How do I stop feeling so upset and angry and sad all the time? I try to distance myself from politics but it just keeps popping back up and stressing me out

I'm not and it's part of what's leading to these feelings. I feel so exhausted from fighting, I feel like I need to distance myself but I can't.

Stop taking politics seriously. Unless that's a career that you pursuit, use it only to get a dose of gigglesnorts and "HA! THESE IDIOTS!"

Read a book. Read The Wind in the Willows.

How do I go back to thinking of it in a fun way? In the beginning it was fun playing with /pol/ and laughing when people on TV got upset over frog memes, but somewhere along the line I think I got too emotionally invested and now I just keep hurting.

I haven't read a book in a long time. What is that one about?

It's an old children's novel: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/289
It might help you get your mind off things.
