Let me tell you what a “soul” actually is. Or rather, about the closest existing thing to humanity's idea of a soul. It is not something each and every person has, but a being that exists in four-dimensional hyperspace. It is one of the beings behind the curtain we call reality, pulling the strings by altering the paths of three dimensional objects as time progresses. To put it in simple terms, time appears almost as a physical plane for them, where all events in the universe, every moment from beginning to end, everything that can, did, or will happen, exist simultaneously.
Now, as self-aware human beings, we are granted the ability to alter the three dimensional space around us, as our consciousness can only exist in one frame or instant of time.
The "soul," as we have come to call it, is self-aware but is conscious of every one of these time frames simultaneously. As a result, it can alter an object's course through the universe over time, as long as it obeys the laws of physics.
But what does that mean for us? It means we exist either to fulfill a minor task as a result of a greater being's control over our fate, or as a result of random chance. After all, most of planet Earth remains unaltered by humanity. Surely these beings have limitations as well.
Considering our short lifespan in the grand scheme of things, it is far more likely that we are the result of a random chain-reaction on an unimportant rock somewhere and that the beings behind all this do not even know we exist yet. For all we know, life is quite abundant in the universe, and we appear simply as the equivalent of a human's view of an anthill.
It doesn't matter whether we're alive or dead, or whether we exist intact or as dust in the present moment. They will find us one day. They will find the brief moment of time in which we exist, and they will not care.

And before you begin to question my reasoning, allow me to bring up the one major question I have predicted will arise: “How can we be a result of random chance AND be puppets of fate? Haven’t you contradicted yourself?” The first instant of time created a massive chain of events, and that may have been the result of one of these beings’ actions. Even the actions of humans display a similar phenomenon. Not a single one of us will EVER know the results of every single action we have performed in our lifetime. Each one triggers a chain that echoes on to infinity. Our entire lives are a chain of cause and effect. That is why “everything happens for a reason,” as some like to say. Any event in your life can totally dictate your future. Your entire psyche, your conscious mind, is formed from memories of past experiences. Why do you think psychologists are so interested in one’s childhood? Besides the innate programming’s of the simian brain, our awareness of what we call reality is nothing but a collection of memories that exist for the sole purpose of determining future decisions. Fate is real. You are only who you are today because of what happened in the past, and it all began with your birth. You were born into a set of circumstances that predetermined your entire lifetime. If we go even further back, you would not even exist had every event in the universe not occurred the way that it did. To wrap things up, what I am saying is that every event in your entire life was determined from the birth of the universe itself. This realm we exist in is a giant chemical reaction that can be predicted from beginning to end given that one can see the entire universe at once. And the beings I mentioned before can do exactly that.

You know why nobody knows the future? Why psychics do not exist? Because no human brain is capable of conceiving every bit of the universe as a whole. No brain at all, in fact, can do this. Somewhere, outside the universe, on an incomprehensible scale, a structure so massive and complex exists that it can comprehend the unimaginably intricate pattern that is our cosmos.
