Don't worry, I'm making an "easily-repostable" image of it with facts that only someone that's been on /qa/ for nearly two years would know.
Please wait warmly as I'm going to pretty it up so it'll be more like 20 minutes.

Just give as much detail as possible, because I know almost nothing except that the board was created by Hiro to conduct a question and answer thread, was originally inhabited by metaposters, and then became a colony of /jp/ three months ago. I've heard it historically hasn't liked /pol/. Of course, these are only things I've heard, and I've never heard the /jp/ side of the story.

The otaku crowd want an [S4S] style board devoted to funposting.
/jp/ is tyrannically ruled by a janitor.

The otaku sphere is well comunicated, if one group finds out about something the others will join in as well. For example, there's a lot of /jp/ on [s4s] right now.
These are some threads from the day before shutdown:

>>>/qa/1213631

All or most of these would be deleted on site on /jp/

This what I've been waiting for, although I would like to make some notes. First, /jp/ was most responsible for the thread war, creating innumerable threads that clearly had no content, and endlessly bumping threads with single word replies. mlpol did some of the same, but not nearly to the same degree.

Second, the events of April 6 are extremely important. It was the day mods started enforcing GR15 strongly, though the same was true of Monday, and was a sharp change in the mod's benign neglect. 75% of pony imaged threads were deleted (but not all) and many mlpol were banned. Second, it was the first day that /mlpol/ had strong off-site alternatives and could leave the board. It was also anything but peaceful. Any pony thread - any many new ones sprung up - was immediately spammed and filled with hate filled comments. Anime threads, fewer in number, received less spam and hate but more than none.

It was the flood of violation reports (like GR15) that must have convinced the board needed to be killed

I used /jp/ years ago, yeah, but I don't call myself "/jp/". The /jp/ remark is because it became a narrative by the raiders that /jp/ had raided and destroyed /qa/ so it was okay for /mlpol/ to do it. The /nlpol/ crowd even roleplayed as "conquerors" that were "liberating" /qa/ from /jp/.

>>
>>5296263
If there were only three or so /qa/ doing the thread spamming, that would explain why the bumps and threads tended to be so contentless - It's difficult to be as in depth as 20 or so bronies. There was one /pol/ny who speculated that a single /jp/ autist was behind the thread spamming - I didn't believe that.
I'm guessing the guy is /s4s/ who hates everyone who came from /qa/

it's summed up well, just that i played a role in certain things. many trivial things, considering butterfly effect and too lazy to explain right now. /qa/ spirit has always been the greater good, everyone was tired of the complaints and disparaging of our home after years of it. we wanted to "be about it" rather than "talking about it."
>>5296273
happening threads were a key setstone of our board culture. that was created after hiro did q&a, "comfy thread" where we bathed in the magic feeling of all that was happening. we would spot hiro around the whole site (very first photo hiro posted, pic related). then turned to sharing interesting things from around the board. /qa/ has always been open and accepting of all boards, but not a stable spirit due to the history. happening threads was the only genuine community we had left at many times, and that was damaged until we couldn't even maintain it now. what else... ponies were always trying to sneak in, posting images that were very subtle etc. very sly, I always felt their presence and this recent events was their opportunity to attack full on.

On April 6, after the mass bannings, I made a post directing mlpol settlers to go to offsite boards. It received several hateful comments from who I presume were /jp/, claiming mlpol were "dindu nothins" and were not accepting fault, and another comment criticizing the post for using a signal meme. That seemed extremely weird to me, because I was literally telling mlpol to leave /qa/ behind, even in the OP, and I could not understand why /jpqa/ was trying to frustrate the exodus.

Can any of you explain this?

the problem is, and something i noticed fairly quickly with mlpol posters, is that many of you aren't capable of recognizing false-flagging well. /qa/ has delt with this for years so it gets messy when everything gets taken literally on the other side. add even more instigators on top of that and it's just a forest fire at that point.

it really came at me hard when a few of mlpolsters genuinely opened up to saying they aren't even from 4chan, yet they're crusading as hard as they can.

Yes, I just meant to say that an /mlpol/ related history of /qa/ would be slightly different, noting that the thread bumping war was largely an act by /qa/ to get mlpol off the board, with /mlpol/ responding, and also that GR 15 began to be enforced on April 5. The superstitious mlpol folk would also mention the Hiro tweet and the false hope that sprung from it, but I never put any faith in that.

/mlpol/ does create a longer history, it's just the histories of /pol/ and /mlp/ prior to April 1, as an explaination of why those boards are intollerable and only an /mlpol/ homeland is satisfactory. I know that isn't relevant to a history of /qa/.

How can those anons defend destroying threads because they weren't 2d/random?
>B-but we only did it to shitty threads!
It doesn't fucking matter. Look at this thread:https://desuarchive.org/qa/thread/1171503/
It got spammed by retards, but a mod posted in it and fixed the mistake. Clearly, "kuso meta threads" on the "2d/random board" could actually have an effect.
>>
>>5296622
>/qa/ was created for the purpose of talking about 4chan-related things.
It was created for moot's Q&A, it never had an official purpose beyond that.

>the few old /qa/ users didn't decide to make it an anime board, it was a gradual change from outsiders
It was started from >>>/qa/999998. Old users did want it which is why it took off. And while I can only speak for myself, I didn't seem to be the only one who welcomed the changed. There were certainly a few complainers, though, particularly about low-effort threads from spinoff posters and the use of tactics such as necrobumping and bots.

>it was essentially another, hidden /q/
/q/ was used for appeals to the mods, which is not the same thing as meta talk among the users. I can't speak for everyone on /qa/ obviously, but I didn't want a /q/, and welcomed anything else. If the mods actually talked to users, I would approve, but a board where people whine at a wall is garbage. Although I was in the minority, I disagree with the image maker that the [s4s] posting on /qa/ was a bad thing, almost anything was better than the /q/ threads which were already gradually taking over the board.

>mod drama

f*ck/f*cking > flip/flippin
r*tard/r*tarded > baka
n*gger > niggy/niggies

A board of 30-50 people that want to be silly and laid back and try to relive the old days can't co-exist with a group of thousands that want to discuss politics and be angry all the time.
The only option for /qa/ was to resist or lose the board entirely. Of course it seems we lost the board anyway.
>>
>>5296806
>the colony was so big
More than that, if there were ever succussful political discussion, it would attract the same "shills," "redditors," and other various /pol/ undesirables.

>an apartheid
The problem with that is somebody has to be the black people.

Taking a look at some of the discord chat tells me yes. The moderators and users of the discord were very serious about some guy post screen caps of their discord. Why would they care if they were there only for peaceful reason? Sure not all of the pony people are in the discord but that discord is a packaged deal with the pony posters. That reason is of course on top of the online activism that comes with anything /pol/ related.

>rid its board of normies by degenerate porn
I was wondering today if this actually works, and if so, why. I think part of it is norms don't want to be seen in public or by their gfs browsing stuff like that. Virgin hikkis can just ignore it.
>>
>>5296808
/mlpol/ is still very much "normie" by /qa/ standards.

>Thread bumping to save important threads is certainly warranted, but the intent was to remove the entire colony with a spam of threads. It seemed a little hostile when the colony could have coexisted with a board that was 66%+ Anime.
I think you missed the part where the furry discord spammed so much that the board had less than 5 pages after the mods deleted some of their shit. All they care about is their epic legion happening, there's no reasoning with them.
>>
>>5296831
I may or may not be saging all of my posts (this post is GR7 compliant), but remember one bump nullifies all of that.
>>
>>5296831
I've been saging the entire time. This will hit bump limit soon anyway.
>>
>>5296710
99.9%+ percent of the time they mods are ignoring what's posted there. And even here, we don't even know if the mod saw it on /qa/ or was linked there in a ban appeal or feedback or IRC.

Also a substantial number of those whining threads are obviously made by trolls. Personally, I think people should have been more tolerant of the minority of threads that look legitimate (usually things like "why was I banned?" as opposed to "delete /board/"), but it is appropriate to tell them they will most likely not receive a response and should take it up with IRC instead.
>>
>>5296809
The original colony was small, probably less than 100, and the ponies gave at least /mlpol/ a much less angry vibe than normal /pol/

>>5296815
I guess you may be right about this. Without independent moderation and pony porn there would be no way to keep the redditors and shills out, save by the hope they don't want to mess with ponies while /pol/ still exists. That may be the reason most did not want to remain on /qa/.

>>5296821
I'm sorry, but I missed this. What are you referring to.

>>5296823
I think it works. It's not that normies are afraid of being caught looking at anatomically correct reproductions of mare vulvas and horse penises on their computers, it's that they are disgusted by it, and they don't want to be around bronies if they don't have to be. This is especially so while alternatives still exist. It seemed to work on old /mlpol/. Of course, a seasoned internet veteran isn't going to be deterred, so it isn't perfect.
>>
>>5296844
>but it is appropriate to tell them they will most likely not receive a response and should take it up with IRC instead.
Except that based modbro actually replied to that thread.

>>5296710
That thread didn't get spammed, it just got the typical 4chan "banter". One hu u qot post doesn't count as /jp/ spam.
>>
>>5296710
also I think I was the first reply to that thread, lol
>>
>>5296832
I do remember half the board being deleted over night, presumably for GR15 violations, in the earliest days. Yes, I think I missed that.
>>
>>5296867
>What are you referring to.
https://desuarchive.org/qa/search/username/Realleaker/page/1
This is most of it.
>>
>>5296773
When /mlpol/ came to the board, they spammed as many threads as they could, described themselves as conquerors, and posted things like "clippity cloppity, get off my property" in every other thread. Only when it was clear that this was not happening did they start talking about coexistence.

>the colony could have coexisted with a board that was 66%+ Anime.
It could never have coexisted without a rule change. Otherwise the good ponyposters will leave since any thread they contribute to is at risk of being deleted without warning, and only the bad remain. Also I remind you that "rule 10" was an essential part of the /mlpol/ concept, and that cannot happen on a worksafe board.
>>
>>5296891
>rule 10
What rules are you referring to?
>>
>>5296891
I was a little confused about why they didn't head to /trash/ because that place has much worse than ponies. Perhaps it's much too occupied for this.
>>
>>5296869
>Except that based modbro actually replied to that thread.
That's why I said "most likely" instead of "certainly". That is literally the only recent example of that happening.
>>
>>5296911
Because at first they came to complain to the mods because they thought it was the mod board, then they stayed and waged war because they didn't like they fact that they couldn't break /qa/'s Japanese Spirit.

/mlpol/'s proposed rules for their board. Rule 10, which was deliberately omitted from the image as an unwritten rule, was to spam all shill threads with clop.

/qa/ had proposed rules too (pic related). Notice they didn't say it was a place to complain to the mods. Of course, the mods didn't care what users want for rules and simply left the board unmoderated. Honestly, it's better for both communities to go offsite, and I hope /mlpol/ will come to realize this.

Oh. Interesting coincidence that 4chan global rule 10 is no spam. I also looked it up, and "rule of the internet 10" is "If you enjoy any rival sites - DON'T" which kind of matches their unwillingness to leave /qa/ alone since it's their "rival".

>>5296953
Oh, I thought that was just a 9/11 joke.
>>
>>5296911
As the other poster explained, the main reason was because of an urban legend that the mods read /qa/. Another reason was that /qa/ was a much smaller and slower board. A final reason was that /qa/ had a reputation - don't know if it's deserved - for hating /pol/
>>
>>5296958
Rule 10 was created on April 2, when /mlpol/ still had a 4chan board. The set of rules listed is one created before the /qa/ occupation and for the 4chan board.
>>
>>5296926
>unmoderated
Well, mostly unmoderated, that was part of the myth that attracted /mlpol/ to /qa/, but it was wrong. They deleted porn and they deleted ponies, and sometimes spam. They tended to delete ponies faster than porn. There was one time somebody spammed a thread with a lolicon hentai webm as the OP with ponies in order to get it deleted, having just seen ponies deleted elsewhere but the lolicon thread left up.

Granted you can see why the mods might have missed it.

The mod was probably waiting for the OP to stop posting so the mod could finish fapping.

In the first day I think GR 15 was enforced. on Tuesday and Wednesday it seemed the mods were enforcing porn rules but not GR15. There were a few threads about how mods were acting but not against ponies. Yeah I'm sure false flag and all, but it wouldn't have been plausible if it didn't seem like mods were tolerating the ponies. By early morning April 5 it was clear the mods were (selectively) enforcing GR 15. At that point it was clear that /qa/ couldn't be a permanent home.

Where did the Barney fag thing come from?

>>5297076
It would have been clear on the first day if /mlpol/ did their research before invading. They would have invaded anyway because they do it for fun.

If the mods cleared the pony threads like, twice a day for a few days, I think most of the teenbronies would have gotten bored within a week. But that's too much work.

Also, since bump limit is reached I'll fortune.

Will I get a full night's sleep tonight?

Your fortune: Good news will come to you by mail
