I'm very good at taking tests for some reason, and so this has made many people in academia think that I am worthwhile and good at science. I feel like living proof of the failure of our current grades-based system to properly select and reject people in STEM. This is because, as apposed to being a proper and dedicated scientist, I'm a heavily introverted alcoholic whose primary interests include escapism, escapism, and escapism. Even as a life fulfilling goal I'd probably rather create music than do research, but I can't do that either because practicing an instrument takes the smallest modicum of work ethic, and I have none.

I think this is an important distinction, because if you say that you're gay then people will think you want to date men.
