Hi
I'm a mum of an 11 year old girl who loves Manga and Anime. Currently she loves Naruto, Sailor Moon, Yugihoh, Pokemon etc.
I have two questions:
How are kids (esp. girls) who are into these thing viewed socially? I understand a little bit about the "nerd girl" thing but would appreciate some other opinions. Are there any reasons I should be concerned about her major attraction to this genre?
Can you recommend other series that would be suitable for age? I don't mean mind the violence too much as long as it isn't gore and mild sexual stuff is ok. I do worry about the way female characters in some manga are very young looking and sexualised.
I usually have a fair idea with teenage social stuff but have no experience with this. Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
