The problem is, OP, that you probably aren't seeing all the coffee. If you are just drinking coffee through a standard cup, you don't see the sugar, the milk or soy milk, or anything sweetener related. Together, those make up about 40-70 percent of worldwide coffee, depending on the day. So your coffee will appear stale and bitter, because you won't be getting the full experience.

I actually just flipped over to the my Starbucks to make this post, and it's pretty funny how bad coffee is like this.
