Man, I was 12 at the time and it was depressing as fuck. Nobody wanted to do anything, school was pretty well abandoned with everyone staying home, nobody cared that it was my birthday.

I remember my mom being glued to the TV while I opened my presents alone in the next room.

Fuck 9/11. I was watching inspector gadget when they cut it to show footage of 9/11 on repeat for an hour. Missed some quality cartoons because of those sand niggers.

I remember being so angry that they stopped the run of morning cartoons to play the news about the attack.

There was no Pokemon for about a week, and I lived in fucking Australia.

I remember for weeks after me and the kids in my class would make jokes about the building falling down using rulers as the buildings and erasers with paper clips on them as planes.

The significance of the act is still lost on me tbqh.

Because nothing really changed for most people. Especially if you don't live anywhere near NY.
