Fuck, think about it on the lowest scale too. You want to leave your parents' home, but when you leave you wish to go back. You want to grow up, but when you grow up you want your youth back. It's not cyclic though, it's a spiral, because nothing can ever be the same, you can only move forward. Eventually when 4chan is killed people will want it back, some may try to emulate it but the emulations will never be the same in feeling, we'd just wait until the next big thing came up, and we'd use that as the standard medium for expressing yourself anonymously
