You could probably get a few days of gameplay out of f2p before your levels get to the point that you're wasting time. I haven't paid for membership in a long time because of my RS3 character. You can buy bonds for in game gold that give you 14 days of membership, what I do is flip items on the GE in RS3 and buy bonds with the profit. You can make up to 8.4m in RS3 over 14 days from flipping just one item, and it only costs around 1m.
