I see it as each individual, animal and human alike are a consequence of former actions. It doesn't matter if it was intended, purely by coincidence or anything in between. The end result is the same, ability to function as an organism and react to its surroundings.
Each experience is exactly that, an experience. An individual judgement of an event - sort of like a tree falling in a forest with nobody around to hear it kind of thing. The event isn't recorded in some grand scheme, nor is it a higher power or more conspiring for it to occur such as it occurs. But rather, each individual is acting out of impulse - while you can argue that consideration, intention and such are higher functions then simply acting, it's still an act.

It's lots of mouthgarble, I'll leave it at that.
