Nowadays, we don't need to do ANY of that. I don't have to care about my appearance AT ALL. The most obese, greasy-haired, unshowered, unshaven, reeking, filthy person can lay in bed for years. And all they have to do is click a mouse 6 or 7 times to see a real, live, naked woman willing to insert any object imaginable into any orifice and do it with a smile. And if that doesn't do it for me, there are 100,000,000 other genres of porn and live shows that will. All I have to do is move my index finger half a millimeter, and it's all there for me. For free. Anytime.

All this is to say we ALL feel lust. You have already given up porn, and I think that is a great step. (I don't think giving up masturbation is necessary, because I think that can be healthy in moderation, but I have personally seen porn addiction destroy marriages so I think giving THAT up is healthy).
So now, USE that lust. Use it like humans have used it for ages - as fuel to make yourself the kind of person that women want to be with. When you feel that desire for a woman, think about what it would take to be with someone like her. What changes will you have to make in yourself to attract the kind of woman you want to be with?

AND - don't forget to reverse this and see it from her point of view, too. Imagine a 280 pound burly, hairy, homosexual man who sees YOU and becomes absolutely inflamed with lust. He wants you. He imagines just bending you over whatever you're standing next to and pounding you right then and there, he wants you so bad. He doesn't care about your personality, your wants, your hopes and dreams, what you look for in a relationship, he doesn't even care if you're gay or straight - he just sees you and LUSTS and can't help it. Now you're in his memory spank bank forever, and you are just bent over every chair and bed frame and countertop imaginable, getting pounded hard by this huge dude, in his imagination, anytime. On the one hand, it's not hurting you to be so totally objectified - you wouldn't even know he's having those thoughts. On the other hand, I know some guys who would feel deeply uncomfortable at the idea of being lusted after by a man the way they lust after women. It doesn't feel great for women, either. I know you understand that, and I know you don't want to have these thoughts all the time. I say this in order to hopefully deepen your motivations for improving yourself.

Once you start having regular sex (by improving yourself, meeting someone, etc.) you'll feel a LOT better.
