If you've never had a credit card or any kind of loan in your life, that means you have no credit. No credit is worse than bad credit. You're going to have to deal with a high interest rate until you can prove you can make your payments on time every time. I think when I got my credit card it took like a week to approve. Though it was with the bank I had my checking account with so they new I had a little bit of money already saved. Yeah, you're going to have a really low limit at first, like $500. That's enough to get you a decent phone and bike, though. Try not to max it out if you can avoid it. Really you're not supposed to go over 10%, but that'd be impossible with such a low limit, so don't worry about it. After like 6 months of good payments, you should be able to request a limit increase to like $1500. Do not open more than 2 cards, even if you feel really desperate. Opening too many cards at once will fuck you hard. Typically the way a credit card works is that they'll bill you at the end of the month, then you have a month to pay it off. So basically two months from when you first get it. Remember that you don't actually have two months to avoid payments, other than when you first get it. Since you'll still get billed every month and they'll get stacked so that each month you're paying off the last month's bill.

If you want to try it yourself, just go to namecheap, get a domain and a year of hosting from them for like $30 altogether, and install wordpress. From there, you can just Google what you want to do in wordpress. Easy as fuck to use, since everyone has it. It's like installing phone apps. People develop all kinds of cool shit for free you can add to your site. Make sure to install Yoast SEO for wordpress, too. It'll direct you on what you need to do to at least stand a chance at ranking in Google/Bing.

Yeah, you can still go though a bank. You'll definitely be able to get one, they hand credit cards out like candy. It'll just be a low limit and high interest, like I said. If you've got any money scraped together, see about getting a secured credit card to build up credit for like six months. A secure credit card is when you give them like $300 and that'll be your limit. Almost like a debit card, but you build your credit with it. Then you can switch it over to a real credit card and they'll give you your money back you put down. There's also plenty of solo credit card companies, but they'll absolutely rape you on interest. If you pay every bill off 100% every month, they can't charge you interest though. So it's also a good way to build credit.
