Why is everyone on this board so fucking autistic when it comes to literally any advice from other people? The "just be yourself xD" meme is funny because it's actually shit advice. If someone tells you to start lifting it's probably because you look disgusting in which case it's great advice.

I'll say this.

Everyone on /r9k/ is a lazy piece of shit, and so am I. We probably all spend very little time doing anything productive. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe you study a language, or you like wood working, or drawing, but I'm going out on a limb and say most people here just play video games, watch anime or movies, and jerk off, pretty much every day.

If you go to the gym and work out for one hour, you go back home and you do the same shit you always do, but you feel a little accomplishment. Instead of going to bed thinking "I did absolutely nothing today," you go to bed thinking "at least I exercised today," or "at least I've got arms like pythons" and then you don't feel so bad about doing nothing all day.

Because it CAN have a positive effect on your life. It's not the be-all, end-all, but it can help in a number of ways. /fit/izens oversell it, but it is good.

what happens when you work out regularly for an extended period of time as a male (female) (male)

>your dopamine levels raise so you feel less like a sad cunt
>your testosterone levels shoot up, making you WAY more likely to approach grills
>your strength goes up so you feel more confident about fighting/defending yourself (this is illusory but i digress)
>your body gets a lot better so you gain more confidence in your appearance, which allows you to also take time to improve other areas of yourself that will also give you more confidence

It isn't a magic fix. But It's the stupidly easiest improvement you can do. You spend 30-60 minutes a workout, for 3 workouts a week, throwing shit around and you get all the positives I said above.

Don't even try to diet at first. Just go work out 3-4x a week for a month or two, and you'll feel better. You won't feel fucking amazing but you'll feel better 1000% compared to what you do now.
