You probably are letting your ego get in the way of your enjoyment, I know because I have the same problem. The truth is people nowadays are down in the dumps/depressed/anxious simply because they live in a constant state of future/past. Life is quite a beautiful thing, and the human body itself is a feat so great no computer could ever come close to simulating it. To rekindle your interest you must break the habits which feed into your ego, you must learn how to relax and focus. Learning the skills of relaxed concentration is the most valuable thing there is to life, and becoming your true self although nearly impossible is a goal that every human should strive for. Don't let your brain get caught up in pointless thoughts when playing video games, begin to play to not only learn the game you are playing but to learn how to focus. Go through life attempting to be yourself, be happy the only things stopping you are your thoughts.
