I'm guessing it's not because of the art, but the personality. Like the disney stories, TV-series and movie personalities often toted here, 2D women are an idealized picture of women that don't exist in real life. I don't share your interests myself, mind you, but I absolutely see this glaring difference regardless.

2D women are nice, empathetic, loyal, fun, easy to approach and easy to please. Above all, they are simply reliable and likeable personalities. Real women appear to be all those things, but their actions consistently betray them as opportunistic, cruel, manipulative, and guaranteed to either ostracize you for no reason for your entire life, or - if you actually do manage to get together with a few - stab you in the back, destroy your heart and switch you to another guy on the fly.

I can't say if the men who find success in the relationship market are the same or not, but then I'm not gay.

The point is, the dream you were brainwashed into believing in by your parents, education, and all of entertainment are all met far better by 2D women. The reality is - as usually tends to be the case - underwhelming and entirely disappointing.
