It's a meme that life off the internet or off your phone is better. But they forget why they got on the internet or their phone in the first place. Life in general is uncomfortable and painful. It's either this or alcohol.

Friends are a fucking meme. They're just a vehicle to justify doing activities it'd be weird to do alone, like going to the movies or to the park.

Hardly anybody has friends that come close to the romanticized version of companionship. Those can only be forged through mutual struggle. Then once the struggle is over, you drift apart. It's fleeting, but at least it has potential to be more real. But what struggles do we have to face anymore? Not many. Even less worth doing.
