Why is it that I think way too much of my older memories? I want

the vagueness of memories makes them seem better. Couple that with the fact that life becomes more difficult as you get older and you have the perfect storm of idealization of the past.

Depression of some sort, probably combined with a stagnant life. Being stuck in the past is like one of THE signs of long term depression. Nostalgia is normal but it's not the same thing. Exercise and self-improvement in general helps. If you're a NEET you need to get out in the world again.
