Not who you replied to, but you find a way to make it plausible. You do some research, find out if you know a guy who knows a guy who knows a gal and start an inheritance chain. For example, I have a relative who is friends with a famous actor. Actor dies one day under normal circumstances as he is rather old, and relative gets something out of the will. Relative dies, leaves some of his newfound wealth to my father. Father dies, I get a cut. Now, you are losing a lot of potential profit as opposed to a direct inheritance, but the odds of discovery are also a lot lower. This also depends upon how willing you are to sacrifice those you know for monetary gain.

Another method is simply finding local wealth and creating situations where they lose a portion to happenstance. A purse left on a bench you happen to be sitting on, a wallet left on a counter, a money clip that falls out of their pocket when they go to check on their phone, etc.
