Robots, I've found meaning in my life
>be playing dota 2 last week
>been a depressed NEET since 2011
>vidya doesn't give me any kind of satisfaction
>still play it because bored
>two of my teammates are talking over voice chat
>somehow they get to the subject of philosophy and one of them mentions "dark enlightenment"
>ask what the fuck they're talking about
>they give me a brief explanation but I'm still curious
>after match is over, research about it on google
>end up finding some blurb about hobbes and rousseau and their views on human nature and the social contract
>literally read through the entirety of "leviathan" and "emile" in less than two days
>immediately download secondary literature on both authors
>obsessed
>yesterday spent about 16 hours reading
>never felt this excited and motivated about something in years
>today woke up and uninstalled dota 2 and several other games
That's it. At the ripe age of 26, I've finally found meaning to my wretched existence: I'm dedicating my life to learning philosophy
This will probably be my last post on /r9k/ too. I'm too old already and can't waste any more time

not OP, but you gotta find YOUR passion
Politics are gay
Good luck on your journey, OP. Philosophy was the final key to overcoming my suicidal thoughts and depression. I hope that you'll learn to enjoy life.
