I don't really regret it that much but I wished I stopped after 1 or 2 watches.

Guns and guitars/pedals.

I had no guidance during the first few years I was fresh out of high school. I was a stupid young adult working menial jobs and spending every penny on dumb shit. If I had saved most of that money, by this point in time I could have moved anywhere in the country I wanted to and started a new life somewhere. But no, I'm stuck in my brothers office room on a mattress with LITERALLY $25 to my name working week-by-week for the grandmother because I'm too miserable and depressed all the time to devote any energy to searching for a job that I won't end up just quitting.

I already sold all my guns and guitars ages ago, I own almost nothing now. Aside from my mattress and my desk I could literally move out in one trip, I wouldn't need to come back for extra shit because I don't have shit for belongings anymore.

I still like the hobby but when I first started I wasted hundreds of dollars on things I didn't end up using or need. If I could go back I would redirect that wasted money to more of the things I actually need and use.

>people buy music that isn't vinyl, and that has very little worth as a whole, except for in the eyes of physical collectors who want entire collections or rare releases, but retards buy normal releases despite no objective or arguably subjective worth.
>people buy and paint figures which are expensive because of economies of scale, paint on plastic (and the funniest part is, they paint them THEMSELVES) which is entirely subjective worth with little usability.
>people buy figures, expensive because of economies of scale and sometimes (rarely) subjective worth and objective rarity, most will never sell for their base price.
>people buy paper with ink, literally monopoly at the simplest level even possible, putting ink on paper, not even hand drawn again dictated entirely by economies of scale and worse purposeful rarity.

You guys need to get some new hobbies that aren't massive fucking cash sinks for zero payoff.

Also, why the fuck does anyone buy any digital media, it's 2017.

I probably own about $10,000 to $15,000 of retro video games. This includes stuff like mint condition Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, etc. On the positive side, I actually bought all that shit decades ago when it came out. Still, I spent a fortune on games over the years. Don't regret it.

I've also probably spent about $5,000 on running and fitness supplies. I'm a competitive marathon runner as a hobby.

I've also vaporized weed (legal in my state) almost every day for the last 14 years straight. I'm also a recovered drug addict (I only smoke weed; don't even drink). I have no idea how much money I wasted on drugs when I was addicted. It was probably a lot.

I agree on the frustrating part. I mainly play it to escape my reality and feel like I'm doing something worthwhile but more often than not I'm reminded of how much a loser I am when I do shit and die first. It's not too good for the 'ol mental health

I like the historical aspect of both games though as they've taught me quite a bit
>>
>>39467445
Most of them have been scanned and uploaded to sad panda or ignored because they turned out to be not very good.

Though, I think there are some left that I scanned but haven't uploaded yet.

I really love doujin culture, but there's just way too much out there for me to collect, so I end up in an obsessive state and then get depressed when I realize that there are tens of thousands of doujin that will never ever be scanned/archived.
>>
I regret quite a few of my individual vidya purchases, but all in all it provides a lot of entertainment per dollar and I'm fine with it. I regret a lot of my carnivorous plant purchases too, I like the hobby but I made dumb decisions buying shit I'd have to replace anyways because I didn't have enough money to get something better. Also ended up giving away about 100 dollars worth of plants because they were getting too big for the terrarium and I had no money for a bigger one and didn't know grow tents existed.

Yeah I loved the part of history where tanks have hitpoints :p

Joking of course
But yeah, there are times where you have ace round after ace round and you're on top of the world but more often than not you get screwed by RNG or placement. I'd rather a steady stream of funs from a pve game than such deep deep downs in that kinda pvp.
Especially when it ruins your WN8. Mine was 2000 and any time I wasn't able to keep up to standard I wanted to kill myself

I blew a shitload of monies on vinyls, but I can't really say I regret it. My collection is probably worth much more than it cost me to build it, and it keeps going up (90% are first presses). If I had to sell it, according to discogs I'd easily make like a 1000 bucks.

I've spent well over $500 on vinyl, but I'd have never gotten into it if my partners didn't give me theirs to start.

My favorite is my copy of Unknown Pleasures because it's on white vinyl and they put the labels on the wrong side.

>>get depressed when I realize that there are tens of thousands of doujin that will never ever be scanned/archived.
I feel these feels when thinking about old internet models and stuff like that. All sets were available somewhere at the beginning but now have faded into history and cannot be found at all. An old torrent site I went to suffered the same sort of fate, it had loads of torrents for british tv shows but now that the site is gone almost none of the stuff can be found now. It's either scraps or nothing. It's depressing as hell and mostly the reason I'm paranoid about back-ups now

>>39467547
There's fuckloads of tank projects I didn't know about prior to WoT and it's the same with ships, I'm learning quite a bit and getting into it some. I'm not really concerned about stats, If I can do a decent amount of damage to the enemy then I'm happy. The stats are just interesting to see how many I've sunk, ect. And yes, RNG can be a cunt at the best of times

I do most things myself. I swapped the transmission of my past E30 from auto to manual.

Videogames that I'll probably never play.

Lots of second hand consoles, most notably the PS3. It's like I have bad luck with Sony products in general. One got stolen, one I sold it (and regret it), the others went belly up (mostly launch FAT models, but even a Slim version did). Their hardware, in all honestly, sucks.

Whiskies. Some of the expensive stuff is great, but others not as palatable as I expected. Other spirits such as gin, rum and vodka are way more enjoyable.

I had an obsession with mechanical pocket watches. Bought a lot tof junk that, malfunctioned or didn't work properly, even after taking them to a professional watchmaker. I end up keeping only one, it works flawlessly because it's a modern piece (and it wasn't even an expensive one). I use it from time to time because I don't like wristwatches, and not always want to have my cellphone around with me.

And this one is more about wasted time than money, and that is, spending way too much time with someone I believed to be my friend. I didn't have friends until 5 years ago. I don't regret meeting him and the others, but rather to my rush of making up for all the years of no friendship, instead of being more careful.

Guns. No regrets in owning guns in itself, but I woundn't mind go back in time and spend more time and money on guns rather than most of, if not all, the junk mentioned above.

Do you dust out your consoles at least once a year? It also doesn't hurt to unscrew the case for a cleaning every 3-4 years.

I know Sony's hardware isn't the best, but you need to do some basic maintenance.

I know and I do clean and maintain my hardware pieces regularly. Maybe their previous owners weren't so careful. But all in all when it comes to Sony consoles, I believe it really is a lottery.
As an example, one of my friends still has a PS3 Slim from 2009, never opened it to properly clean it, thus it still has the rather crummy factory thermal compound, yet it has hundreds of hours of gaming in it, it's well worn , yet it never overheated or gave real problems and still works flawlessly to this day. I spent $10,000 in 2 years buying things for a Israeli camgirls amazon wish list.
