A discussion I saw today, Sep01 2017. Thoughts, anon?
ANON 1:
Man, there's only 4 months left in 2017? This year ha flying by!
ANON 2:
3 months
ANON 1:
Which month are you not counting? Not a fan of October? ;)
ANON 2:
This is the 9th month lol. There's only 12 months in a year.
ANON 1:
This is also the first of the ninth month. We have to get through this entire month. Then we have 3 more.
Sep
Oct
Nov
Dec
Sep01 - DEC31 = 4 months
ANON 2:
Most people don't count the month that they are already in. I don't.
ANON 1:
Ha, well since the entire month has to be lived through and experienced, I do. That's ~30 days, with another ~90 after.
ANON 2:
Lol have fun with that!
ANON1:
Have fun? With math? Alright, I will
Would you agree that, oh let's not count today since I don't feel like counting half-days, that we have 121 days until Jan1?
Sep - 29 days left
Oct - 31 days left
Nov - 30 days left
Dec - 31 days left
If you do (and I assume you do), then you can see that 121/30 is close enough to 4 for good taste. That's 4 months until the next New Years. If this was, say Sep25th... meh, Sep would already be almost over, so at that point I'd see it as 3 months left. However, it isn't. September JUST started. 30 days left in September. 91 after that. 4 months.
But hey, I'm not one to judge someone's perception of remainders. I'm just a guy who knows the year is 2/3 over, and feels the year has flown by too fast.
I will rate 2/10 out of pure generosity but don't post something like this again

Here's a (You), but that's all you get.
I mean, I can see anon1s logic, but the definition of 'left' does mean a remainder. 12-9=3. so yeah there's only 4 months left.

>being such a math elitist you can t into small talk
With education standards being what they are, does anon 2 surprise you at all, OP?
