So... What the fuck is wrong with us all? How do we change for the better? I've got pretty bad apd, socially retarded, I'd usually rather say nothing at all than bother to socialize... Used to drink to be interesting but I overdid it and don't ever really wanna go down that route again... idk are there any philosophical robots that can say something uplifting at least?

The system.

>How do we change for the better?
Remove most of the population and kill all the stupid and self-absorbed.
>>
>we
>us
We are not a mob nor a hive. Everyone's problems are subjective and personal to themselves.

We were legion before the normie hordes invaded and pushed most of the real robots off this board.

This guy's part of the problem right here. Most of the problems in modernity affect nearly everyone and are extremely simple. It's only the wicked and simple who have something to gain from keeping this shit hamster wheel spinning who try to claim it's so rarified and subjective nobody can possibly understand it so we may as well just accept the cesspool that life has become for Earth.

Want I believe, isn't that what anything comes down to? How much you want it. Obviously not all of us will get it, but in order to do so you must desire in the first place. A lot of robots do not wish to get better. I think they see the world as a scary place with no happiness in it, so they reject it.
>>
>>39435391
>how do we change for the better
We don't. I started doing shit everyone expected, got a better job, learned how to pretend to be socially competent, started getting into education, even went after girls and succeeded some. I became the closest thing to normie robots could get and it didn't make me happy nor did it change my views or make me start liking life. It didn't even cure my depression or disenfranchisement and in fact made it all so much worse.
We just were not made for this world and conforming to it does nothing but break us down more and benefit it entirely.

>I think they see the world as a scary place with no happiness in it, so they reject it.

No. I've experienced some of what this world has to offer. And it's pure shit. I don't fear it. I hate it.
>>
>>39435391
oh wow this picture is cool. looks like a brain on fire. brb lighting up a cigarette.
>>
>>39436438
I've done that and I was happy for a time. I don't know what changed though. I think I was just working too much and had a falling out with friends. I stopped enjoying things.

>>39436443
But then can you make your island? If it's bad out there it can be better here?

I've got a weird relationship with this. I sometimes look back fondly on those times vs now alone in my room. Why did I forego them then? Why don't I try to get back to it? Do I want to be with people or do I want to be alone? And not to just appeal to other sad frogs on the internet lol
>>
>>39437597
You hate the people but crave the social interaction. You crave it because you're hardwired that way psychologically and you hate it for one/many of many possible reasons.
>>
>>39437807
Yeah maybe. I guess I just need the right group. It isn't the sole reason fir happiness and maybe I was looming for it to be, but that doesnt mean I should forego it
>>
>>39437597
I used to be pretty social when I was young, but my parents became far more strict as I got older, so I just stopped trying, became introverted, and eventually preferred to be alone.

I'd only ever be slightly interested in going out if I were drunk/high, but now some of my best memories are just being high, alone in my room, maybe playing guitar.

Sounds kinda pathetic but I did really enjoy jamming with my friends in the past, but I had to move away from them.
>>
>>39438090
Yeah I was social as a kid too. I became anorexic and my parents divorces and middle school was a shock so I became quiet. My issue I guess is I look so fondly back on times when we were all together, yet I don't do anything to be social. I need to figure out what I want. I have a fear not of dying in my room alone, but that being the wrong choice, I think.
Man I'm conflicted
>>
>>39438457
I guess the only advice I can offer is to try it out and see if you find yourself wanting to do it more.

If you have some friends, you can start by simply going to local events, cheap shows, or something. If not, maybe try meeting some by going out to learn a new hobby? Or if you just want to go out alone, that's even easier.

I was in Ireland (from the States) recently and met a lot of people just walking around and talking about random shit like how our government did 9/11. I didn't bring it up once, but no lie, on four separate occasions they did. It was kinda fun.

Most simply, our core problem can be reduced to one of the central themes and major quotes of Fight Club (please no "le edgy movie" comments):

"A generation of men raised by women. I'm wondering if another woman is the answer we really need." There are other quotes in the film hitting on the same subject.

Basically, we were raised in social contexts where women held major sway over us the majority of the time. Most of us went to schools with "fat violent dyke" school admins\heads, mostly female teachers, and the odd male here and there - and the social dynamic of coed schools was always gynocentric. In situations where men and women socialise together, especially when the 'authorities' in that situation are heavily female or influenced by females - the culture that prevails forces the males into a position of constriction and silence. Think about any modern office workplace with lots of women - you cannot be comfortable physically because this might intimidate women, you cannot voice certain types of opinions because this might make women uncomfortable...and yet women are able to express their sexuality, their personalities, and say practically anything.

Our culture socialises men to pursue and venerate women and sex ontop of the massive biological drive for this, so we were also raised to constantly evaluate ourselves in terms of our appeal and value to women. I'm not saying the idea is some sort of all-male club where we smoke cigars and talk smugly down on women. My point is our social anxiety and avoidance have very real origins outside of ourselves as a result of a very specific set of circumstances.

The solution is gaining self-esteem, self-direction, and building lives in which we don't have to be constantly living in reaction and submission to women and their hypergamy.

Whatever you say bud

Some of us just were never meant to live past a certain age. Back in ancient times, the mortality rate was higher for infants and children, the useless and the weak were killed/died.
Now who is there to kill people like us? Nobody. So we thrive in a world that has no place for us.
>>
>>39439207
This just comes across as so stupid. Do you expect humanity to never progress? I undrrstand feeling small being a thing, but even Rome had a million people. Might as well go back to before toilet paper existed with that horrible logic
>>
>>39439093
Well I wish you the best then, we don't always look for that which is best for us I suppose
>>
>>39437225
Wow holy fuck this hit home.
Brb reflecting on my life choices
>>
I've read enough philosophy to be comfortable with my understanding of life as a set of goals. Now I realize life has no meaning besides indulgence and pleasure, and I'm still too depressed and socially inept to enjoy any such things. Suicide only poses to waste the opportunity I'll never take.
>>
Im just lazy as fuck, all my life dad putting me down and never being happy with anything i do so eventually i just said fuck it and now i half ass everything. As long as its done i dont care how good a job it is. Thats pretty much a habit of mine at 22 and it would take some serious conditioning to break that.
>>
>>39440661
Same background here, but I'm obsessed with perfecting everything or else I get irrationally frustrated and shut down. Not sure which is worse.
>>
>>39440661
Man fuck what your dad thinks just live life how you want to
>>
>>39440123
>>39440123
I suppose you're right. If I find any shortcuts, you know where to find them.
And best to you as well.
>>
>>39440808
It's not about what my dad thinks, it's about the fucked up thought process and outlook I've developed over the course of my life as result of faulty upbringing.
>>
>>39435391
I honestly think alot of it is similar to the "smart but lazy" meme. So a robot might be smart enough to see the world blows but not smart enough to take advantage of that and succeed, while a truly intelligent person would see they the world sucks and learn how to achieve his goals despite his realizations.

I think we're in a purgatory between blissfully ignorant and truly intelligent.
