Any robots serving in the military or thinking of joining?

Talk about your experiences/plans

How's the US Navy lads; how often are you sent out to sea?

Actually there are plenty of robots in the military. You'd be surprised. People constantly make Uni threads daily and no one seems to realize that military is the robot route. Why the fuck would you want to subject yourself to a sjw, chad, filled university, going from class to class with no friends to talk to, constantly feeling alone in your room while your chad roomate brings his friends and hoes that he fucks in your living quarters that you share Military guys are the real bros. They have a unique type of kinship and are accepting to all. Most of the technician jobs are filled with guys like us, so fuck off cunt.
>>39432708
Good luck anon, are you going in as a Nuke?
I leave for bootcamp October 30th.
>>
>>39432402

What did you do? Also if you got what I think you got which is a dishonorable discharge, there's no going back in from that, kek.

>>
>>39432916
Is that true? The army bros certainly wouldn't take an awkward and weak guy such as me even seriously. I often thought of joining the navy but what are the odds I'll even make it. I'll just disappoint my granddad who's served as major when I get booted from camp
>>
>>39433095
General discharge, couldnt pass pt.
>>
>>39432916
the notion of a robot joining the military may as well qualify as an oxymoron

>job working in intense high stress and life or death situations
>can't even look the cashier in the eye

i can already see me shitting myself when the DI shouts for everyone to stand at attention and the weight of the situation sets in.

i guess a few may be able to make in in the airforce but that would be rare

so fuck off already normie.
>>
>>39433116

>>39433182
You mean the pt at basic training? What did it consist of? I'm interested because I'd like to start training now.
>>39433121
The whole macho man army bro is a meme. The army has it's share of spergs, you'll know when you see them, but it's best to hang out with the Chads if you really wanna grow as a person. The Chad like dudes there are usually really down to earth and aren't assholes.

Was thinking about it but I'm anemic anorexic and have kidney stones. Army recruiter told me to bring him my medical records but that was in February.
>>
>>39433265
In the army at least, for males my age its 35 push ups, 16:36 2 mile run time and 47 sit ups. I couldn't pass the run and got fucking humiliated every time we did a run.
>>
>>39433218
>the notion of a robot joining the military may as well qualify as an oxymoron
>job working in intense high stress and life or death situations
>t. faggot who knows absolutely NOTHING about the military.

I understand where your coming from. When most people think of military the first thing that comes to mind is front line battles with guns and death. If you actually did some research instead of talking out of your ass which clearly you've never done, you'd know theres much more than that.
Navy technician jobs are the most comfiest and robot tier military jobs. They're far from "high stress" or "life or death". For example, crypto techs literally sit in an office with air condition monitoring servers. They're literally the navys hackers and any robot who isn't a complete dumb ass is capable of doing this job.
>>
>>39433368
>not a complete fucking dumbass
>robot

choose one
>>
>>39433345
Holy shit that's horrible. I can do the pushups and the sit ups, but I really gotta practice my run. For navy you gotta do a 1.5 miles run in under 12:30.
>>
>>39433402
>all robots are dumbasses
Care to back up that claim, otherwise I'll assume the source for said claim is your unwashed asshole. And when I said anyone who isn't a complete dumbass I mean academically, not socially. I think it already goes without being said that most robots are dumb asses when it comes to responding well to social cues and shit like that.
>>
what's serving in the Supply Corps like?
>>
>>39433501
You cannot be a robot if you have graduated high school and/or have an IQ of over 100 desu
>>
>>39433939
Whether you're a robot or not isn't defined by academic achievements. Nice try though buddy. In fact most spergs are the ones with the high IQ's, normies are the ones with the low IQ's, which explains why spergs are much more self aware.
>>
>>39433439
that depends on certain commands. Instructor at subscol shore duty requires excellent average PFA scores now. thats 72 pushups, 90 some situps and a sub 10:30 mile and a half.
bare minimum scores will look like shit on evals and youll lock yourself out of certain shore duties.
RDC requires outstandings on all of it of course.

Definitely worth it, doesnt take much desu. Today was mandatory fun day at subbase in new london, I got to go kayaking for free, and a chief select being hazed during initiation washed my car while I got gas.

A lot of robots could make it, but i also see a lot of you guys in the faces of the students bitching out over stupid shit, like the wet trainer or not waking up for duty muster.
Hit or miss, but if any homo here is hoping to make it in the navy, it'll only be nuke, since they ignore pfa scores for them and everyone expects them to be dorkasses.

Oh, and AMA about submarines or SECF

I'd join but i'm severely weak and super fucking retarded so I probably couldn't even pass the ASVAB.
Let alone having to get yelled at by DI chad while being surrounded by Chads and being excluded and becoming everyones bitch on the first day.
Yeah no, fuck that. I don't care what you say, the military is for fucking Chads. No robot is going to last a second in that kind of environment. They could barely even survive high school.
>>
>>39434394
awesome, and depends on the job. everyone thinks their rate is the most important and most fun. I am an an ET nav

most of the equipment you work with or on is classified or secret. google what you can, but until A school you wont learn much.
Youll do a lot of cool stuff.
>>
>>39434508
When I went through basic a lot of the guys were actually really helpful and encouraging to me. I still got made fun of but it wasn't as bad as you think. They obviously knew I was a socially awkward weirdo but a lot of them were still nice for the most part. It's not like Full Metal Jacket or something.

And of course you get yelled at a lot but you get used to it.

I'm autistic and I still got in. The recruiter didn't even ask. I get made fun of for being quiet and socially awkward but that's as far as it goes.
>>
>>39435506

If you weren't officially medically diagnosed (which absolute WOULD BAN YOU FOR LIFE) then you're not actually autistic sorry. Trust me when you're an actual robot you're forcefully taken against your will, medicated, and given a permanent life-altering stigma that stays on your record forever and yes the military has access to it
>>
>>39435628
They really don't look into your records unless you're into a classified kind of job. Otherwise, it's not hard for an autist or some kind of mentally ill person to get in. They'll accept anyone as long as you pass the test and you're not an obese sack of shit.
>>
>>39435628
You have no idea what you're talking about my man. When I went through basic a guy had a psychotic breakdown and it was only after this that they found out he had a history of mental illness. Another guy got kicked out for depression. Same thing. He had a history but they only found out after he was already in and started acting depressed.

I lift bare minimum so I can pass the fitness test (mostly low weight, high reps), I autistically run (like forest gump) and basically do marathons, its nice because people compliment me on my ability to run

SECF? Never heard of that one before. I'm going in as an AECF. Also, will they seriously not allow you into certain shore commands because you have a shitty PFA? That's so mean anon! Which PFA do they look at, the one from A school or the one from boot camp. Also I heard that AECFs will be on carriers for he most part so would it even matter? How can I run faster? I too joined the Navy
>>
>>39432402
I already work through meps so I will tell y'all about Navy and Navy requirements as well as asvab information.
>physical requirements
I am 130lbs and 5"10 and was suitable for joining (I didn't have to gain/lose weight to make the cut) so consider those parameters.
>asvab info
They will make you take a practice asvab. I scored a 55 after not being in school for a year after graduation and got a 79 on the actual test. The best jobs are (in order) Intelligence jobs, Engineer based jobs, and Legalman (law stuff), (journalist based), and Personnel Specialist (recruiting type stuff). Most other things are going to be shitty.
>how is meps
All it is is following directions. It's not hard. If you don't know where you are, just ask for directions. Plenty of robot types and mentor types in the military.
>physical requirements for boot camp
Something like 45 push-ups and 50 sit ups in certain time constraints like a few minutes. I will lay out meps information next, as well as pitfalls.

Day 1 of Meps (this is for all branches btw. I live in Texas)
So if you are joining in Texas you will go to a hotel called Crowne something. The first day is "Processing". You will go to a meps facility/building. Your recruiter will drop you off and you will go to the second floor building and turn right. Do not pick up one of those notebook thingies just sign your name and sit and wait. They will do asvab confirmation testing. You will answer some quick medical questions then eventually you will be assigned a seat in a special testing room. Have an id, social secruity card and any documents they give you on your person at ALL TIMES. Even on day 2. Once you go to take the test, be patient with the computers they most likely are not broken but slow. It processes your score immediately. So three minute wait? Btw they'll hand you a key for your locker by the elevators put that in your pocket. I forgot what happens after testing but basically you move around the building with paperwork the whole time. Do not be afraid to walk with your fellow applicants for guidance on your way to where you must be. Floor 3 has a control desk where they can help you. At the end of the day you will sit in a room and wait for a shuttle. Wait for the shuttle instead of your recruiter for your convenience. It's about 30 min drive just relax. The waiting room time for me was a half hour as well but some guy had paperwork problems and was left at the meps facility for 2 hours. They will do a small briefing with liaisons there two black people an older man and a nice lady. Both were black. There is pool, call of duty, and tv. Eventually they will hand you room information. Ask for help if you need to but it has directions. Even I needed help.

>>
>>39439623

>>
>>39439619
Cont.
Day 1
You will meet your roommate once you get there it will be the same gender as yourself so do not worry. He may or may not be in your branch of choice. Lay out some small ground rules and keep your valuables safe. Preferably y'all should be out and in the room at the same times. Be friendly but not clingy. You will have a few hours until briefing time at 4 or something. Dinner is at like 4 or 5. It is your first government paid meal most likely. It was shitty and the hamburger did not have cheese so pick cheese burger and my fries were cold and the tea was not fucking sweet tea assholes. If you forgot any toiletries the gift shop sells that.
8:30 is another briefing, basically it talks about meps and shit but it's not helpful. Curfew is 10. You do get permission to leave the hotel. Cont.

>>39439713
Day2
You will wake up at 3:45 (phone call in your room) and you will go eat food at 4:00 and leave for meps at 4:15. Drink LOTS of fluids to make the piss test easier and processing quicker. Once you arrive at meps you will do some group things/walking around until the medical part. Do it in this order to be done quickly ok?
>piss test
>eye doctor.
The eye lady got pissy at me and fucked up my exam score because she was in a hurry to finish for the day so do her's quickly.
>ear test/physical
Doesn't really matter but the old ass doctors take so fucking long so go quick so you're not waiting too long.
>blood test
Pretty quickly done.
After that you basically go from the office of your branch back and forth from there and the control desk. They give you lunch after the medical testing so don't worry. Finally, you will pick a job based on your score. If the job you want isn't available, do not sign. You can wait. I'm waiting for Cryptologic Technican to open up. My shipout is March 2018. So pick a date a few months in advance. Unless you don't care. But if the job you want isn't there...
>>
>>39439471
When you say go anywhere, do you mean that I'll get to choose whether I wanna go on a carrier or shore? Also which do you think is better ET or FC? Kinda wanna go FC because I hear FC's on aegis cruisers get re-enlist bonuses. But ET is probably more my style.
>>
>>39439809
No you don't and I think officers do extra testing I'm enlisting so I'm not sure. I think it's the same but to qualify as an officer you have to make certain scores and take another test based on leadership. How long has it been since you were in school so I can help you

You can lie about it but honestly talk to your recruiter. Don't hide it from your recruiter their job is to get you into the service Meps is supposed to kick you out. If you can't join because of something they'll stop you at your recruiter

You arent gonna be chosing shit your first duty station. Most schools give you a dream sheet to fill out when you graduate and you can list your preferences but needs of the navy chooses where you go. Not to mention your chocies will be limited based on your rate and NEC. Basically its completely up in the air and anyone who says different is lying.

>lazy ass black ladies
If it has a black lady in it, do it first (medical) because they'll get lazy and impatient the longer it takes.
>piss test
It took me 5 tries to finish piss testing. Drink lots of fluids before you go into medical and the day before.
>getting lost
Not that hard except on the third day. Just ask the control desk people on 3rd floor.
>processing in 1/2 days and getting a shitty job
Just don't sign.
>physical fitness requirements (Navy)
40~ push-ups 50~ sit ups in 1-2~ minute time constraints. Do some of these before bed and in the morning until you can do them easily. Build yourself up over months/weeks.
>the military is scary
Depends. Boot camp is the most straining part of the military for most Navy, Airforce and Coast Guard recruits. Marines, National Guard and Army or another story. It's 6~ months of hell but you can do it because I believe in you. After that, the military is as hard and as dangerous as you make it because you choose your job. The military brings financial security, educational opportunities, camaraderie and more.

No I don't think so. It's very easy and accounting polishes your math skills which is the hardest part. It's like a standardized test (slightly harder benchmark test from school)
What do you think you would like to do in the Navy?
>>
>>39440128
national guard and yes i do but idk if its documented and it was also caused by crazy circumstances, kind of why i want to join the service in the first place. I wouldnt think my case would be preventable to join the service but i guess it is.
>>
>>39440163
Yeah it's shitty but if you want the gibs you gotta do it
20 years and you retire in the service and can live like a neet for the rest of your life easy
>>

I heard the the person with the highest scores in A school gets dibs when it comes to duty stations. I understand needs of the navy prioritizes everything but lets say navy doesn't need anyone in a particular place, would the guy with the highest score most likely get his first pick? Also the reason why I said ET over FC is because after i serve my time I'm planning on doing something engineering related, most likely computer science in the civilian world. I know that FC deals with a lot of weapons and ET is more radar and electronic equipment. I just feel like it would be much more beneficial in the long run for me to be exposed to that over weapons considering my choices for the civilian world.

First of all if it's self diagnosed don't say anything and go to a diff recruiter if you already said yes. If you think it's that big of a problem then go get tested for depression and don't let them say something like "oh well anon you don't have depression but we diagnosed you for x x and x". But really if it's not documented/self diagnosed don't say anything
>>
>>39432402
Im litterally too stupid for the military.
You have to have ATLEAST a GED which is a highschool equivalency.
I have studied and atempted the GED 6 times so i could get a better job to no avail.
My tutors eventually stop answering my calls.

It was the same in middle school and highschool, other people seem to remember and understand the material and breeze through while i struggle as hard as i can just to get a fucking GED at 24.
Also to take the GED test it costs 150 dollars, at this point ive pretty much given up.
I must have some sort of mental disorder thats gone undiagnosed, i refuse to believe im this fucking stupid.

>tfw too dumb to get into the army or marines of your own country

ET is better than FC, but if your considering retiring in the Navy FC might be an easier job

Rumors rumors rumors.
Ive heard the same thing but like I said for my class as an OS it wasnt like that. I wouldnt count on it cause shit changes all the time.
>would the guy with the highest score most likely get his first pick?
Again its possible but dont bank on it. With that being said some classes let people trade contracts. So if you get stuck with some shit you dont like just trade.
>I'm planning on doing something engineering related
FC is just as good for that, probably better
>I know that FC deals with a lot of weapons
Its not what you think. They work on, maintain and operate their weapon systems. Its very hands on and technical as all fuck. It will set you up just as well and the job is better imo.
>>39440259

Explain why faggot, FC has bigger bonuses, faster advancement and ETs job is just wait for someone to break something than fix it. Youre a repaireman at best. boring.

That's exactly what I said. FC is better if you want to retire in the military but ET has better stuff for outside. Reread what I said. Also

That changes based on what the navy needs. It's not a reliable long term decision making tool. FC may be useful but it's less relevant than ET in the civilian world. Again, reread

I want to do jet software for the air force. Been a dream of mine since I first saw the old radars first used.

Unfortunately no military branch will take me, despite being equal in knowledge to a masters in computer science before I was 18, and specializing my knowledge towards what I believe jets would use. I'm actually getting my masters now and it's such a slog because I know all of it. I know I sound like I'm bragging but this is all kind of necessary for you to know why this next part is slightly bullshit.

No military branch will take me because I have ADHD, ocd, and had schizophrenia induced by childhood trauma until I was about 20.

If it wasn't for the job prospects I'll have in a year I'd kill myself. All I want to do is go into the military and use my body and mind for this country, especially if I can work on my dream job.
