I do that aswell. Maybe it's because I'm tall but some people just lock eye contact and I look at them and even turn my head and don't show any emotion. Sometimes several secods but usually till we pass each other and my head is on my shoulders.
I dunno I like it, it's great for self-confidence. Walking with a straight back, looking over the masses when I'm in the city (btw this leads to others walking arround you, not into you or your path) and just pretending to be normal.
It's usually only possible when I'm with my only friends who I'm kinda into; otherwise I would cocoon myself at home for weeks after doing that...
