I actually agree with you on the olympics, they are almost objectively a total detriment to society the way they're set up now. Nationally funding that shit is a huge waste of money and nobody uses the stadiums afterwards, the 2004 olympics for example are hugely responsible for greece's denbts. Same goes for extorting taxpayers into having to pay for new stadiums, the new stadium in Vegas for the Raiders will be fucking obscene. But when it comes to privately funded shit, I don't see a problem with it.

Football (soccer), NFL, Baseball, etc make billions of dollars between them. You bet your ass the guy who kicks a ball earns $500,000 a week if he's making his company tens of millions a year while doing it.
