How much does it take for a person to change a behaviour that is extremely rooted deep within themselves? Is it even possible?
30 days (I think it's actually 28 but nonetheless) of continuous action forms a habit

Well that's how long it takes to build a new habit or to get rid of it

Would help if you provided more details

It's nearly impossible for them to do themselves, since they have developed these behaviors in order to feel "comfortable" or safe and that's extremely difficult to break out of. It's far more likely to happen if someone/something else forces them to change, like an abrupt change in their lives or situation, something that forces them out of their comfort zone.

Again. It would help to know what these habits are. It could be smoking or it could be jizzing in a jar every morning before you leave for work

I get the feeling OP is talking more about mental problem type issues and how he interacts with other people in various negative ways.
It takes willpower or trauma to do so.

Yes, pretty much what I meant in >>39383673.
I changed my entire personality over the course of 2 years, it can be done, you just have to make yourself think differently.
