If you're awake and dying, like losing life function slowly, then it's going to be painful somehow.

Like asphyxiating yourself by hanging? Probably the most pain you'll ever experience. Anyone who's survived being choked to death says it's insanely painful. Hurts all over.

Mashing your brain to paste using a shotgun is relatively painless.

Sometimes I freak myself out thinking about death.
>try to imagine what it's like sleeping but not dreaming
>can't conceptualize actual unconsciousness so I usually imagine the state of waking where my eyes are closed and I'm awake but don't even realize it yet
>try to imagine what it's like to fall asleep and enter this state forever
>can't imagine forever since I've woken up 100% of the times that I've fallen asleep

I don't believe in an afterlife and I feel like the state of death is literally unimaginable
