Do this. Just tell them you made a mistake and you do want to work there. Even if you can only manage a few months at least you'll have got past the never had a job stage and you can always put this on any new application.

sorry robos, i think i was feigning my confidence when i got through the interview - it was an entry level job for general labor so it wasn't anything too great
the added point i was faced with was i ran into somebody from high school who recognized me. that sounds like a petty excuse, i think so too - but it isn't a good thing for some other reasons...
ill give it another try at another job place, hopefully one indoors and where i can work my way through things.
