Nothing happens. We're just gone. What we're currently experiencing is temporary and rare throughout the universe - most matter does not consciously replicate itself and resist the environment in order to maintain a consistent form. Once the process keeping our bodies stops, we just re-join the universe as dumb, inert matter, that could possibly become nourishment or a small part of another life form, in the future.
