Aren't robots supposed to be good with numbers? No one can be poor if they earn more than they spend (which you should do at all times). I was a neet all my 20s, lived with my parents, no job. Recently I got a pretty damn good job (embedded programmer/ee) at 30 years old, absolutely love it (fucking crazy that I even managed to get it, no formal education, no work experience, just 15+ years hobby experience in electronics design and programming).
Before I always thought "oh, once I get a job and my own place things will turn around", but nothing's really changed. Sure, I have more money than I know what to do with (currently just saving ~$1000 every month into a savings account, for what I'm not even sure), but if anything my social anxiety has gotten worse because I have no good excuses left - I have a good job, my own place, can afford nice shit, yet after 10+ years of practically zero social interactions I'm completetly crippled to the point where I doubt I'll be able to hold a conversation with a girl.

Just some sheer crazy stroke of luck.
I did a coding boot camp type of course (webdev, C#) - not that I needed to learn anything, I breezed through it - at a place where they also provided headhunting services, interview prepping training, etc, basically a kind of 'help people get a job' type business.
Anyway, the webdev course led nowhere (it included a 6 month internship but I didn't get that job), but through my stay at the course I guess I managed to make some connection because about a year later, a headhunter who remembered me contacted me about a job opportunity at a small electronics company looking for someone to replace their software/hardware guy quitting after working there for ~20 years.
I guess they must gave been really desperate to find someone, or it was niche enough to have very few applicants (p-cad pcb design, C and AVR assembly programming skills required) that I managed to land the job immediately after demonstrating a bunch of hobby projects I had done.
