He really likes fantasy and science fiction stuff in his down time, and he's a big fan of Overwatch too. He also enjoys science (something he's really good at). He's seems to know pretty much everything science related, and often blows me away with his knowledge on medical issues and diet.

I'm not that much of a fan of clingy or the opposite of that, but he really hits the sweet spot. Somewhere between "not too annoying" and "wow he really cares about me".

He gets flustered under stress very easily and it's really cute. He also gets really defensive and upset for me when he hears about something even slightly bad that happened to me. I don't know how much I can type and still be allowed to post (let alone how much you can be bothered to read) so I'll end it here. I could right many times more than what I've written though.

They can be compatible in a lot of ways, they both use Fe and Ti functions and can find it easy to communicate and understand each other. Generally, they get along really well.

I would say the only problems they will run into is what I am describing, INFJs feel alone as is, so when their partner is sometimes emotionally unavailable, they can feel misunderstood. INTPs are exhausted by emotions and can become stressed out by them. It's not always a great mix but it can work.

There's no such thing as perfectly compatible couples so you have to decide what suits you best and which flaws you want to work on to suit someone else. I do wish I was less emotionally needy and I hope someday that will change/mature.

Ah. Well, I don't know the answer to that question directly, but I can say from my experience that the ENFP's i've known have generally been social nexuses, when they are psychologically healthy. That is, while going through life, independently gather various congruent people from disparate environments, and bring them together in excellent communities/groups, with the ENFP as the lynchpin. I have not seen any other type do this so seamlessly and well. So I would gather that you are indeed social leaders, but of a different kind. ENFJ's seem to me to act exert agency to manage and influence social groups well, but ENFP's just.. are. Like, ENFJ's emotionally manage groups, but ENFP's naturally create and energize them.

I can't say that with any authority, but it just seems to be what I've encountered in my experience

Speaking of ENFP's I'd actually like to ask you something relevant:

How does one talk to an ENFP? Or other Ne users for that matter (but especially ENFP's)

Being N's, they seem have a natural affinity for ideas and abstract discussion and are relatively smart. But. I find it nearly impossible to discuss anything with them - as what happens is that the topic of the conversation jumps three different topics before either of us can even finish articulating a point/argument for one. Given standard NF fare of politics and sociology etc, I find that there is technically a lot for us to talk about, and can do so for a long time, but I always end up frustrated at the end of a longish conversation as I don't feel like there was any meaningful exchange of ideas or intents - just an extremely expansive, fast-moving, and superficial one.

This concept exists with INFP's too to a certain extent. ENTP's also have it but it seems the Ti reigns it in somewhat.

Can you introspect a little, and tell me: When you have a conversation with someone, what is the underlying subconscious objective regarding it?
What kind of conversation makes you feel the best, and what is it that makes you feel that way?
For me, as an INFJ, it is: 1. To share in another person's knowledge and experience of topical subjects and (perhaps more importantly) 2: Convey and perceive underlying perceptions, thoughts, and feelings about both party's psyches via subcommunication. What is it for you? (if any ENTP's bothered to read this, I'd like to hear your thoughts too..)

I'm an ENTP too, we're often referred to as "introverted extraverts." I think it's normal, we just have such a rare subtype and the E + NT pairs in an interesting way.
