What are some videogames I can play with actual communities to make friends in like the old days?
Met all of my friends, irl and online through Minecraft. Call me what you will, but we've all been great friends for years.

That was viable years ago, but now it's impossible to find decent people on public servers.

look at old games, stuff that's pre 2007 or even pre 2004. people have love for that shit and there's much more of a sense of community than on modern games

Warframe is fine and most of the community there that i've talked to are either wagecuck/neet robots or complete chads, never even seen a normie

Unironically, fighting games. Yes they take a decent amount of work to git gud at, but the reward is incredibly fulfilling. The fighting game community is worldwide and is a preddy comfy community and scrub-friendly. Whatever country you're from there is at least 1 offline scene for sure. If not, there are discord servers for each game. Current games that are played
>Street Fighter 5
>The King of Fighters XIV
>Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2
>Tekken 7
There's also Fightcade which has all the older fighting games like SF2 Super Turbo and SF3 Third Strike, all running on glorious GGPO (lagless) netcode

which would you say is the best of those for a beginner? I mean I played a little Injustice way back but was never good.

Almost forgot:
>Injustice 2
>Smash Melee/Sm4sh **cough party games cough**
>Blazblue
And the upcoming Dragon Ball Fighter Z (which has a lot of hype behind it) and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, a 2 v 2 marvel vs capcom-esque game developed by Arc System Works, containing cross-content from Blazblue, Under Night In Birth, Persona 4 Arena and RWBY. Future is looking bright for fighting games

Definitely SF5 or Injustice, but I'd say SF5 would be more newb-friendly due to being less gimmicky than Injustice. SF5 is the current #1 game of the FGC, much to the chagrin of many folks (it's been dumbed down but everyone is kind of forced to play it due to it being the latest version, plus Capcom pumping in $$$ for their CPT esports shit)
SF5 had an epicly disastrous release, though. Tons of issues. I'd advise against buying at full price and wait for a sale.
None. Everybody uses party chat now.
>Tfw I want to play guilty gear but don't want to deal with having to buy the newest version every 6 months
>Tfw I miss the sf4 days where an update happened every 2 years or so allowing the community to 5am catch up

Play guilty gear. It's worth it, even with ASW's annoying update patterns. The game has such a high skill ceiling that you constantly have things to improve on
Honestly, Old School Runescape. Full of absolute autists just like us and it's pretty fun for nostalgia's sake.

Find an older server.
Not 2b2t, and I'm certainly not going to tell you which one I'm on, but find it and find your niche.
I play original eq on the phinigel server atm. Very cozy, easy to integrate.

Destiny is a good one. If you're casual scum and are just crap at everything you do, than Overwatch is pretty popular.

EVE Online works well
CS:S can also work

Agree, used to be a mod on a few smaller servers with really cool communities, I guess people just stop playing after a few years sadly.
