Any replies are really helpful, I'm worried I might have injured myself weightlifting (I stopped like 3 years ago tho) or if it's depression I'd like to know that since it'd make me less worried

I am not aware of backpain being "a sign of depression" as such, but backpain can be associated with a range of endocrine disorders most of which are probably also associated with clinical depression. This kind if backpain is most often related to early-onset osteoporosis, so it might pay to look up that term and go from there back to possible causes. In particular, low testosterone is commonly associated with bone density loss and hence early onset osteoporosis, and afaik depression in males. Since low testosterone is however a meme on this board, be aware that there are also many other endocrine conditions leading to the same outcome.

You don't want to fuck up your back in your youth, this is one of those things commonly listed on "wish I knew that when I was 20" lists. Almost everyone gets back problems in old age, a little bit of care now can be the difference between living in constant pain and a joyful retirement. I really need to take my own advice on that one however and finally order some great ergonomic chair
