So I don't think this is explicitly wrong, but the military is essentially a huge pyramid and it's only really a few hundred guys at the top who control the policy and strategy of literally millions of service members. You're probably more likely to create change in overall strategy by getting involved politically than by actually being in the military.

I really do think people in the military do have the power to make change locally, but it's pretty limited in the same way that a manager at a single McDonalds has pretty much no say in the international business decisions.
