I'm half Dominican/Nicaraguan. I'm doing alright, albeit extremely stressed. I'm starting medical school soon, I'm on track to be the first person in our family to be financially successful so the pressure is high. My mom was a teacher and my dad was a janitor and the rest of my family are good for nothings.

Still a kissless virgin though but I've kind of hindered my already terrible chances a lot since I've had no life whatsoever in the last 2 years. I spent all my time doing volunteer work and shadowing a doctor, trying to keep my GPA high and studying for the MCAT so I had zero time for myself.

As for hate, I've never felt hated really. I look closer to and speak more like a white guy despite my Dominican half and I'm quiet and lowkey. I don't bother anyone and I keep to myself. I got along with most people just by speaking politely and respectfully to them.

The closest I go to hate was the head of the math department at my college was this older white lady. I needed to speak to her about getting into some classes and she was very abrasive and rude to me from the outset. I went to a shitty college so she probably dealt with a lot of questionable latinos but still. Despite this I treated her with respect and was unwavered by her bitchy attitude and she eventually eased up her attitude and next time I saw her she was pretty nice to me. Sometimes just showing them you're not a stereotype is all you need to do. She helped me several times after that and she was nice to me, that initial meeting was full vitriol though. It seemed like a latino shit on her desk or something.
