Eat more fiber. Also the darker the blood is the further inside it's coming from. You might just have torn your ass up shitting too hard, or you might have internal problems.

If it's bright blood it's probably due to hemorrhoids or an anal fissure but then again you didn't mention any pain, and believe me, if it was a fissure, you would've felt it.
Hemorrhoids and anal fissures tend to go away on their own after a while, but, even though rare, they can stick around and become a real problem and cause extreme levels of pain.
Personally i wouldn't care about it but i've dealt with this before, if it's bothering you that much maybe pay the doc a visit.
If it's dark blood, go to the doc as fast as you can.

Have you been eating beetroot lately? It might not actually be blood.
