Not being able to do anything by yourself is weirder than being alone.

I do often, usually nobody minds at lunch.

Do NOT eat out alone for dinner though, especially not on a weekend. People will look at you like a freak.

I lived near Lincoln Park (Chicago) for a while.

It was very common for restaurants to refuse to serve me because I was eating alone. Or, I'd get seated, but the wait staff would never come by.

Pretty fucking depressing.

I eat alone at cafes, mostly for lunch, but I'll probably never go to a restaurant by myself.
