i think this is the only answer i can say is correct, its possible the others are factors but its hard to say for sure.
Basically we've reached a point of stagnation where people can not work towards their own goals or goals they feel they directly benefit from, in turn society degrades as subsequent generations become disenfranchised with the current society.

I have also thought about this as well. I think it's mostly a loss of tradition like you said but I also think that because most people are unwilling to search for meaning or purpose has hurt mankind in general. I am not of the opinion that it has anything to do with our diseased politics. But technology is a point open for discussion. I mean hell we have porn for free on every device that can connect to the fucking internet. The fact no one want's to really address this is worrying enough.

I often wonder what humanity would have turned out like if they had an infinite amount of land to expand to. I know that plenty would still want what belongs to their neighbors, but I think it would also be a big psychological relief to know that you could just pick up stakes and move if society became too oppressive.

The internet has destroyed society.
We're in the process of rebuilding it into something new. And we happy few get to enjoy the turmoil of being inbetween two cultures and fitting into neither.

The way I see it is that life is an illusion by the mind. The way we live, the way we perceive time is all nonsense made up by the mind to try and understand an abstract reality. Once you realize life doesn't matter and that it's an illusion and it's goal is enlightenment things become a lot more clear. Suffering is simply a feeling to be experienced not despaired through.

Maybe a suffering existence is a price meant to be paid by all of humanity for being as shitty as it is. Everyone suffers a good amount. Everyone who was and will be born will suffer. Maybe we all just deserve it. No matter who you are. You deserve to suffer. Humans just walk into too many dumb traps and collapse their own civilizations over and over again or stupid shit. They do it to themselves I'm sure you all know that. People just deserve to suffer and I'm ok with that. I may be miserable but I know some other poor fucker who lost the misery lottery somewhere else is currently locked in probable agony. So the schadenfreude alleviates the feeling of life being an unpleasant task. It could be worse. I may be a fucking virgin piece of shit lazy no brain foul smelling loser but I'm not some nigger in a hut eating his own. I'm not some sand nigger constantly freaking out about whether or not infidel scum have tainted my food with porkybits and deny me Muhammad's (PBUH) blessings. I'm not some street nigger selling stolen walmart shoes to pay for shanequa's ogre offspring. I wasn't born as some limbless brain dead retard. I can enjoy my stupid anime and video games.
