How to become Christian 101

First lets break down some common mis conceptions people have when becoming a Christian.

>too much fucked up degeneracy

Nah man you good. Jesus accepts all sins. This verse talks about how he carries all burdens even all the guilt about your past sins and degeneracy.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22.

>I can't understand God.

Jesus talks about how we shouldn't try to figure out how God works, we are only three dimensional beings we couldn't possibly understand him. He says we should have the minds of children.

"Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs to kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter." Mark 10:13-15 ESV

>I want to fap tho

Name any place in the Bible where it says you can't beat your meat.

>What about porn then?

Some Christians say no and some say yes. Google: "can Christians watch porn" if you need help.

>Im lgbtq+

Some people believe that being a lgtbq+ is a sin and some dont, there is considerable evidence for the ladder.

Now... Become a Christian in just a quick few steps!
>>
Step 0: pray, talk to God and spill the beans, tell him what has been going on in your life and what has been convicting you, ask him to help you with your journey on becoming a Christian.

Step 1: Get a bible. There is a free bible app that is very good. One can download the entire bible for offline use, and it is free. Also, buy a book version if you want, NIV or ESV is good. Its best to read the book of James or any new testament book as a starter like Matthew or acts. Try to read everyday even if its one verse a day.

Step 2. Go to church, find a local, non-denominational, contemporary church to go at. Most people there are young and chill (open to lgbtq+ people) . And talk to the pastor if you want, it would be to get a good feeling of those church and its overall vibe.

Step 3. Accept Jesus as your lord and savior and repent from your sins and ask for forgiveness. This step is all you need to become a Christian, though you can't do any less.

Step 4 (optional but recommended) get involved in your church! Many people there are super chill and open to all people, volunteer or join a group its awesome. One of the best social groups ever.
>>
Though this doesn't mean that becoming a Christian makes life perfect for you either, you not going to immediately get a Christian qt or become a Christian Chad. Life still might suck. But now there is hope, hope that you will live in eternity where there is no sin, suffering, sadness, of any kind. Where everything is perfect.

I will be praying for you anons, I hope the best of your journey with Christianity.

I know this sounds normie, but reddit's r/Christianity is full of all sorts of Christians. Most are chill though you will run into some who are like "HELLFIRE! BRIMSTONE! TO GAYS!" So watch out for them. Its a good place (not as good as the bible) to learn about modern Christians and Christianity.

The part where the guy is supposed to fuck his brother's wife because they want a kid but because it wouldn't be his kid he decides to pull out so he's punished for wasting seed.
I forget the name of the chapter but I have read this.
This is also why you're not supposed to have sex with contraceptives. But since Jesus accepts all sins blah blah Christians are going to do it anyway.
>>
I've read the Bible. It didn't make much sense to me.

I don't understand what prayer is, or what it is supposed to accomplish.

I see no evidence for the existence of the supernatural in general, or the Christian mythos in particular.

It just seems like empty larping to me.

OP is a degenerate and a homosexual. /r9k/ is and always has been a Christian board. We don't take kindly to sodomites here.

The Bible clearly delineates sodomy as a heinous crime against nature in both the law of Moses and the Gospel for anyone who is not wilfully ignorant. The word of God versus the word of OP (and we know what they say about OP)? I know what I will trust in.

What does the Bible say?

Moses, Leviticus 20:13:
>If any one lie with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination, let them be put to death: their blood be upon them.

Paul the Apostle, Romans 1:26,27:
>For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. And, in like manner the men also, leaving the natural use of the woman, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.

no, christbro this board is hell don't you see.

Luke 13:28
>In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out.

>weeping, gnashing of teeth

nothing personifies this quite like Wojak, he embodies this verse and /r9k/

this place is a cesspool of degenerates, wretched people with damning misfortunes and fallen normies. There is nothing pure about this board other than the nuggets of enlightenment droped by the elders and righteous.

>when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out

>when you see Chad, Stacy and Tyrone and all the normies in the kindom of society but yourselves trampled beneath them

That's the story of Onan from the book of Genesis. Basically the cultural custom in that time and place was that if a man died, his surviving brother should marry the widow and have children with her for the dead brother. This was much later included in the Mosaic law for the Jews, though Onan lived long before the time of the Mosaic covenanr. Onan's brother died and his father told Onan to have children with his brother's wife. Onan was doing the deed but pulled out at the last minute and ejaculated on the ground (Genesis doesn't go into detail why). God struck him dead on the spot.

The straightforward interpretation is that this was a punishment for deliberately "spilling his seed." This is termed onanism and is applied to masturbation, coitus interruptus (as in Onan's case), contraception or other acts that frustrate the natural end of sex. The liberal iterpretation is that Onan's crime was failing to live up to his family obligations (so masturbate away, Timmy!), but this is absurd on even a cursory examination. The Mosaic law did not exist yet, and there was no other commandment from God for Onan to have kids with his sister-in-law. Further, there is nothing in the natural law that would require Onan to do that, otherwise, we would still be under the same obligation today. Is every man who fails to marry his widowed sister-in-law and have children committing a crime wortht of death? Further, who's to say that Onan didn't intend to have children later and was just engaging in responsible "family planning" techniques? Point being that the straightforward reading is the correct reading.

King James Version, Douay-Rheims, St. Ignatius Study Bible, or Orthodox Study Bible.
The non-KJV Bibles will have Deutorocanonicals, meaning they are valid and full.
The study bibles will have notes to help understand certain verses.

The catechism on masturbation:
>Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action. The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose
Refer to Matthew 16 for the validity of Church decree

>27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
>28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
>29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
>30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

No, Brother Anon, it is you who has failed to see.

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were only Chads of virtue and righteousness. They were not Chads or normies. Far from it. The degenerate Chads and normies here are Sodom and Gemorrah, which God destroyed by fire.

>Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Also Peter:Also Peter:
>For if God spared not the Angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down with infernal ropes into hell to be tormented, to be reserved unto judgment.
>And spared not the original world, but preserved Noe, the eighth person, a preacher of justice, bringing in the deluge upon the world of the impious.
>And reducing the cities of the Sodomites, and of the Gomorrhites into ashes, condemned them to be overthrown; making them an example to those that should after act wickedly:
>And delivered just Lot, oppressed by the injustice and lewd conversation of the wicked:
>For in sight and hearing he was just: dwelling among them, who from day to day tortured the just soul with wicked works.
>The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation; but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented:
>And especially them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority, audacious, self-willed, they fear not to bring in sects, blaspheming:
>Whereas Angels, though they are greater in strength and power, bring not an execrable judgment against themselves.
>But these men, as irrational beasts, naturally tending to the snare, and to destruction, blaspheming those things which they know not, shall perish in their corruption.
>Receiving the reward of injustice, counting the delights of a day to be pleasure; stains and blemishes, flowing in delicacies, rioting in their feasts with you,
>Having eyes full of adultery, and of never ceasing sin: alluring unstable souls, having their heart exercised with covetousness, children of malediction:
>Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray.

Wojack is not something we admire or aspire to. At his worst he is a cariacature of our failings and vices. Alternatively, where he is a symbolizes our suffering from others without fault of our own, he symbolizes the beatitudes.

>Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
>Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
>Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
>>
Since the early days of the Church fathers, masturbation, lust, and homosexuality were all agreed upon as soul destroying sins.
It was only when the reformation happened and Christianity was turned into this unrecognizable, soulless husk did everything become "open to interpretation".
No longer was Christianity about striving for a union with God. It became "Just say you believe in God and you are saved forever. Do what you want, God will forgive you." and "If it isn't in the Bible, it is all fair game."
Thankfully, no matter how much you try to twist Chrisianity, the power of Hades shall never prevail against the Church that Christ built on Peter the Rock and upheld by his succcessors.
You can only be saved by the sacrements. If you think Christianity is about saying the magic words and joining the club, forget it. It won't save you. It will make you feel good for a little while, but it just won't save you.

Most religions entail prayer even despite radically different worldviews and theology. Doesn't that suggest to you that prayer is something more universal than the Bible? Likewise, in regards to the supernatural (though be aware that "supernatural" has a particular meaning in Christian usage, so praeternatural might be less confusing here), I think the same argument applies. The belief in angels, for example, didn't come about from people reading the Bible, then abandoning all common sense and just blindly parroting the Bible's teaching about angels. The belief in angelic beings predates the Bible and is pretty much universal across humanity, regardless of their cultures and religions.

To open yourself to belief in spiritual beings and realities, you have to first abandon modern mechanistic view of reality, as if all reality consisted only of particles of matter bouncing around in space like billiard balls. Aside from the question of whether that even makes sense in light of modern physics, consider that you are a "spiritual" being as you are a conscious being. Consciousness is tied to matter (we can link our sensory perception to chemical mechanisms for example), but the actual reality of our consciousness cannot be reduced to those chemicals. If those chemicals existed outside the context of a human, there would not be a consciousness, nor would the chemicals themselves be conscious. It's like looking at the physical words of a book printed on paper and ignoring the meaning of the story. There is so much more to our world than can be captured by raw materialism.

Smh. This is the last kind of church that a robot would want to join. Besides the fact that they are filled to the brim with normies, they are all porn-watching homosexuals like OP.

I know what your saying well "how is that even possible you have accepted christ into your heart yet are a heathen herectic?"
Well let me tell you my story anon of my spirtual journey and how i rejected atheism and enlightened myself to spirtuality.

>See two ways of life that i really like.
>looking online i read and watch videos about them, even about their negative aspects.
>go to a catholic church on a sunday.
>i like its morality sytem and how it has united european people behind a common cause in times of need.
>I hate the current pope and teachings, that have turned their back on the traditional faith and embraced a globalist pc version.
>go to a pagan festival.
>love the code of honor that is followed by anglo saxon pagans, and how it is the faith of my ancestors and a form of keeping traditions alive.
>I cant stand the Larping drinking mead out of horns, dressing up like old anglo saxon warriors wearing Mjolnir pendants and screaming WODEN at the top of their lungs is just cringe worthy.
>Go home still an atheist.
>Decide to read more and eventually give up.
>about a year later watching a video I unexpectly came across Catholic Paganism a spirituality shared by two of my favourite philosphers Johnathan Bowden and Julius Evola.

>tfw dont go church or larp and instead carry on almost like my normal atheist old self accept that I...
>try to live a sin free life whilst at the same time living by a code of honor.
>take notice of the festivals such as Yule and easter and participate in Fasts etc.
>read books and learn more about mytholgy and religious teachings.
>dont openly pray on my hands and knees or by shouting WODEN at the top of my lungs but simply sit in bed some times thinking about my trobles and hoping a spiritual force in the form of Christ and the old gods will watch over me give and give me the spirtual strenght to pull through in these dark times that we face in the modern world.

Strictly speaking, Catholics have to confess mortal sins (such as masturbation) but do not have to confess venial sins. If you don't want to confess masturbating every day, the best thing to do would be to not masturbate every day. When you make a confession, you're presumably resolving to not commit those sins again. Surely you can go longer than a day without falling back into mortal sin? But if not, then you are obliged to confess it as you do it or risk hell.

Also, confessions are not scheduled only on Sundays. At many churches, they are scheduled mid-week rather than Sunday. a confession also does not need to be in a booth. You can flag down a priest on the street, and if he is a good priest and unless he has something very pressing to attend to, he should hear your confession right then and there. More realistically, you would just contact your parish priest and let him know you need to make a confession outside of the scheduled hours.

I'm scared to learn about mortal sins vs. venial sins as I heard knowledge of them makes them worse. Thought mortal sins were like murder. If knowledge doesn't weigh in can you tell me what they are?

Can I repent for it outside of the church? Do Novus Ordo churches count?
>>
>>38817144
Also are contraceptives a mortal sin and how can catholics afford to have a massive family from not using contraception?
>>
>>38816882
>>38817144

Yes. Catholics need to confess all mortal sins. Even though there are mortal sins and venial sins, individual sins are judged by the "gravity" of the sin.
Masturbation is not always considered a mortal sin if it down out of force of habit and addiction. According to the catechism, the culpability of the sin can be reduced to a minimum.

Me, personally, I commit sins like lust and masturbation and violent thoughts that are cases of "gravity". When I commit these sins, I believe that they are probably not mortal. But I still try to confess every week. Partly because I have that free time, and partly because I could never recieve the Eucharist if there was even a chance I was in a state of mortal sin. I only recieve Eucharist on days where I know I have confessed at most an hour before the start of mass.
