But that's actually a good idea. Honestly, whenever I start talking in depth politics with someone, I tend to ask them "What do you think the best argument is against your case is?" and their response will separate the ideologues and idiots from the people actually worth talking to.

people evidently don't want level headed thinkers around because by reflection they are reminded how swallowed up in ideology they have become. we are plunging headlong into a new age of internet identity politics where everyone needs to draw clear lines and define themselves and their echo chambers: to be a centerist or nonpartisan is now the most radical and socially responsible thing you can do.
