How do I move to a big city from a small town? Just want to live

Make sure you have savings, go on craigslist and find a room to rent, move out there and pay for first month's rent. Then you start looking for a job that you can support yourself with. You should have enough money to pay 2-3 months rent in case your job search takes longer than expected.

It's going to be expensive. In the biggest cities, even the tiniest rooms can cost more than your current rent. I assume you want to live alone. Living in a studio alone in NYC can easily cost $1500 a month before utilities, and that's at a minimum.

Move to the suburbs of said big city, rent or buy, you will NOT regret it!

I suggest finding a place first, putting down your security deposit and then moving in as quickly as possible. If you don't have a job there yet, then don't consider getting a place until you do or get a roommate. Don't buy anything new, craigslist is king in terms of finding furniture.
