You're not black or jungle asian, so they'll be polite and courteous to you. Some stores might not be open to you, and if you're unfortunate enough to get arrested, it's almost guaranteed you're going to be convicted. Otherwise it's fine. Japanese xenophobia isn't exactly the 'kill all gaijin in their beds' kind. You'll get a bit of passive aggression and comments that you're too white and culturally inept to pick up on.

But you'll never. *ever*. be accepted as one of them. Dn't forget that.
