Do anyone want to learn music?
I just started piano and I thought it would be better if we share our musical progress together.

Have you any pieces to share?
Im learning violin and bought an electric guitar last week.
I play guitar and piano but I never make any progress. Been playing for over a decade. I just mindlessly noodle scales because I have no idea what else to do. Learning sheet music is just a giant headache and not fun at all.

I make shitty lo-fi music with my guitar, bass, and an old keyboard. I can't play piano but I'm trying to learn: https://soundcloud.com/shamart/kick-start-go

hey anon I like that a lot.

I will upload something in a minute if the thread is still alive.

Violin is cool.
I would record something but I broke a string yesterday and I don't plan to buy new ones until next week...
>>38764480
I play piano. It's really therapeutic.

Findd songs you like and start playing them, try mimicking the style and sounds of your favorite guitarists to create your own style of playing. I'm personally trying to mix Dimebags play with some SRV
>He's learning piano to play anime ost
>tfw play piano but too poor to buy a real acoustic one and just play on a hand-me-down Casio WK-1200
Fuck, I wish I had the money and the room for an upright. They sound so good. The only acoustics I get to play are at a local community college's practice room and they're ALL ancient, out of tune, and have multiple stuck keys.
Sometimes I think it'd be fun to play the instrument I played in high school but I'd have to buy one and then I'd be too scared to play anything because it's a loud instrument and the neighbors would hear.

I would like this on spotify
I want to learn but I don't seem to enjoy the learning. I have a basic $100 Casio CTK 2400. I just tap on it sometimes
>>38764918
i like your singing
>>38764480
Pretty decent at percussion and learning some guitar stuff, bass and acoustic.

Ask for help from the many neet's that write symphonies and play piano in jazz clubs.
>>38766080
I got tired of learning songs years ago. I don't have any favorite musicians.

Is it worth learning piano if you're working with 5 years of bad keyboard technique? I'm seriously considering either quiting electronic music or going full abstract machine music. You can't get anywhere in techno with no friends.

>Is it worth learning piano if you're working with 5 years of bad keyboard technique?
I'd say it is, but you probably need a teacher to put you on the right path
>>38764480
What are you using to learn piano anon? I'm getting my dad's old keyboard because I want to learn as well but I want to learn on my own. I know basic musical notation and such from high school band
>>38767818
I'm using First Lessons in Bach and Nikolaiev's Russian Piano School (the book my teacher uses).
First Lessons in Bach is public domain, you can find it here
http://imslp.org/wiki/First_Lessons_in_Bach_(Bach%2C_Johann_Sebastian)
I found the russian pianos school in scribd, but they ask you to upload something to get the file...
I also played a few easy pieces from Suzuki Piano School before taking lessons. I think it might be good to start since it has progressive pieces starting from Twinkle Twinkle..

Do you have a teacher? I'm guessing no based on your technique. Please flatten your fingers and play on the pads instead of your finger tips unless you're going to some staccato pizzaz.
>>38768149
I have a teacher.
You're right, I should flattern the finger more/
want to play the banjo but i'm scared of not playing it at all if i buy one.
>>38766199
What instrument? And fuck your neighbors. They can suck it
>>38764480
>ywn run into the other music major anon again
You can't turn back the clock, fuck. Maybe when the /uni/ generals start again...
>>38768198
I'm not a native pianist, but I know enough to know that other anon is full of shit. I've never heard anyone give advice to FLATTEN one's fingers when playing any instrument.

i've been playing piano for over 20 years bb

Dude I like this a lot. Are you by any chance in Chicago? Maybe we could jam sometime and write something?
>>38768489
I don't think he means going full flat. Just slightly. I remember my teacher told me a used my fingertips too much, and that I also played "outside the keys".
But I was also told that I should pretend I'm holding a tennis ball when I play...
I guess I will ask about all this the next time I get a lesson...
>>38768549
Yeah I remember that advice, playing on my fingernails was retarded. He's right in that regard, then
>>38768556
You look pretty ancient to have been playing for only 20 yearsjk anon I love Scriabin, good taste
>>38768582
>But I was also told that I should pretend I'm holding a tennis ball when I play...
my teacher told me to imagine holding a raw egg in the palm of my hand :D
i like your teacher.
>>38768601
>Yeah I remember that advice, playing on my fingernails was retarded. He's right in that regard, then
playing on your finger tips has its place (staccato, quick attack)
