Unless you've been fasting for these seven days you're most likely deluding yourself. Part of the reason it's so hard to manage one's weight is because you can eat in fifteen minutes the calories you wouldn't burn in hours of exercise.

Five days or so worth of calories aren't compensated by a week of a little caloric deficit.

The past week I've only had water and nicotine gum, that's a 12,000 calorie deficit. I've got a BMI of 18 so even if I do gain a little it doesn't matter, plus I can just restrict and lose it again

I have zero self control that's why I'm currently stuffing my face with 10,000 calories. Being skinny isn't about control, it's about knowing that you WILL lose control and making sure you do so in ways that don't make you gain.

I did it because I can't control myself. I never feel satisfied after a normal meal. I'm either ravenously hungry or not hungry at all. Eating normal sized meals every day is torturous for me so I fast for a week and then gorge myself. Even now after gorging I don't feel satisfied and I'll be hungry and unhappy until I start chewing nicotine gum again.

So you did it (in some sense) for "spiritual" reasons, to have more control of your consciousness. This is something many people do too as I've read extended periods of fasting let you access or "connect" with the subconscious more easily and let you in some way "rewrite" aspects of your personality.

Care to tell us your experience with the extended fast? I have tried intermittent fasting but I have never gotten too far into it.

It could be in part due to your diet, you know? This sounds like someone that eats too many carbs. Is that your case?

Towards the end my legs feel very tired and heavy. My stomach feels light and empty. I don't shit for days. All the time I would have spent buying, eating and shitting out food can be spent on other things. Overall it's an okay feeling but nothing spiritually profound.
