Do I really have to buy Audio-Technica ATH-M50S to be taken seriously?

Why is it so difficult to be accepted in the music community? I just want to enjoy music, but lots of people seem so elitist about almost every little thing.

Dont do it anon, yeah they sound pretty good but holy fuck they're uncomfortable. Get some bayerdynamic dt770s literally god tier
>>
>>38750659
Do yourself a favor and go on Massdrop and spend the extra 50 bucks on either Sennheiser HD 6XX or the AKG K7XX. Unless you absolutely need closed headphones in which case I personally like Beyerdynamic DT770 more than the M50.

what is a god-tier headphone for 30-40 GBP????

I just bought a pair of these about a month ago. I think they're great. I would recommend.
However,
I would NOT buy headphones just to be "accepted" by other people in a "community". Thats a dumb reason. Just buy the things that work for you the best.
>>38750725
So far, they do not feel uncomfortable. Maybe I have a small head? they work pretty good for my size.
>>
>>38750782
That's kind of poverty tier but you can get Koss PortaPro or there is some Superlux (forgot model#) that are well liked around that price.

Wtf literally noone cares. They're decent budget headphones that give u decent bass thump with a budget amp.

Uncomfortable, for me, only after the earpads started wearing off and it was 5 euros to fix that.

Also what have they been sitting at 140-160 dollars for 5 years now or whatever whats up with that?

As it turns out, real musicians are all broke and can't afford nice stuff. Who gives a shit about some cancerous music "community" of elitists on 4chan?

go to this site to compare headphones: https://www.headphone.com/pages/build-a-graph
the closer to 0db, the better. research things related to this if you really wanna get into audiophile stuff.

I use these Sony mdr 7506 headphones. They're over 20 years in Sony's lineup. Listening quality is very natural. Great product for how much it costs
>>
Yes.

I'm literally wearing a pair right now (which is over five years old) which I've worn for at least 15,000-20,000 hours. Not uncomfortable at all.

One problem is after about 10,000 hours of use the foam on the headband and ears starts flaking off. But it doesn't damage the sound quality. These things seem pretty indestructible.

Overall the best quality for your money. Unless you're super rich there isn't much better out there.
