I need your help /r9k/. My family want me to go to university and they'll be very disappointed if I don't go. If I have to go then I want to do a degree which will help my job prospects at least a little bit.
But the problem is that I'm completely hopeless when it comes to maths, I can't even do basic arithmetic. So anything STEM is completely out of the question. So what's the best, most respectable non-STEM degree to take?
Well, virtually any college degree is going to confer a pretty large wage premium relative to someone who only has a high school diploma so even if you study philosophy or history you're not exactly doomed.
If you're hopeless at maths I would suggest business administration, accounting, or political science as possibilities that usually have pretty good job opportunities with pretty high pay.
study philosophy then go to law school. If you're smart and get into a top ten school you'll do just fine. Philosophy is easy and it's on the up and up for law school entrants.

I don't mean to insult, but quite frankly people who aren't able to do basic arithmetic are pretty unlikely to be cut out for Harvard Law.

Philosophy is a shit choice if you don't plan on higher education.
I would recommend biology, personally. Not very math-centric, but still science, so you'll actually have careers related to it. You could even turn it pharmaceutical if you wanted to. There are a wide variety of biology-based careers.
