Does anyone else think it's funny how Freddie Mercury sang "I don't want to die,
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all" in Bohemian Rhapsody, but then he died of AIDS? Life is morbidly and ironically humorous sometimes.
Song for reference in case you don't know it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9rUzIMcZQ
Well he was going to die of something eventually wasn't he? I'm not sure how the circumstances of his death make the line any more ironic than if it had been uttered by anyone else.
Wasn't it weird how Kurt Cobain said he didn't have a gun and yet he shot himself? Too spooky.

Exactly.
Also, with Bohemian Rhapsody, I've never really attributed the song or its story to any one member of the band or the band itself. Many of their other songs are clear extensions of their beliefs, likes, fears, personalities, etc.
But with Bohemian Rhapsody, it's just the story of some guy who killed somebody and now he's going to die himself and has to deal with the devil. The lyrics are half gibberish, but the story itself its pretty straightforward.
Now, if you want a Queen song where Freddy is very clearly singing about a personal feeling, AND it has to do with his AIDS, try The Miracle, from the album of the same name.
He, and the band (but not the public) knew of his diagnosis at the time, and what does he do? He chooses to sing about the beauty of life itself.
