You got your facts wrong, for young people(below like 35 or 40) it's the other way around. When it comes to infants it's actually closer to 51 male babies for every 49 female babies, this is a worldwide phenomenon. The only reason why it seems that women outnumber men is because older age groups are taken into account, men die younger than women do on average.

In modern age America there's millions more young men than there are young women. Any individual young man is at a disadvantage when it comes to sheer numbers alone.
