What was the easiest decade to "make it" as an adult?
for example, 2017 is nightmare mode in the US, it's nearly impossible to own a home, start a family, or even have a gf if you're not already fortunate.

It's never actually been easy and before the last 200 years it wasn't even easy to live to be an adult in the first place.

I think that this is probably the truth. There have always been people who weren't going to make it. Welcome to the shit show.

Not if you got a STEM degree

> great depression
sucks
> post ww2
not bad. cheap houses, lots of jobs
> post vietnam
still pretty good. get in on the ground floor in a tech company and rent and houses are dirt cheap
> 80s and 90s
housing is still reasonable, and a degree is still valuable, but not as good as before
> post 2000
fuck millennials and gen-x, signed boomers
> future
welfare state run by robots, massive purging imminent though
From an older guy; 70's and 80's. As OP says, the situation now with regard to things like housing and decent, secure, long term employment (with good pension, etc) is dire.

As long as you were a white male then probably the 50's.
