Yes indeed. It was a better time. Smartphones and social media and the whole online mainstream circlejerks like 9gag changed it all to the worse I guess

Pretty much everything is better now because the internet, better technology, and cheaper everything makes life easier but i think it was almost certainly more 'comfy' because of the absence of the universal internet. I mean say back in 1997 or so I still spend large amounts of time away from the internet alone in silence or listening to music while sticking my face out my window to smell the atmosphere. Having intervener everywhere and so ubiquitous makes it slightly harder to experience that level of comfy. Just think Twin Peaks compared to today.
